DH, me and DS(4) are planning to go to Chef Mickey's for the first time. I am not able to decide whether to go for breakfast or dinner. Can you please give your opinion. We have 11 a.m. reservation and 9 p.m. reservation in 1 st week of December.

Thanks

I would never bring my kids to a 9pm dinner. We're in bed by that time. Add to that the fact that it's pretty much unheard of to be seated on time at CM, figure you won't be out of there until maybe 11pm if you're lucky (assuming you want to see all the characters which I assume you do) and then you still need to get back to your resort before you can begin getting ready to go to bed. Are you staying on the monorail or will you have a car or will you spring for a cab? I can't even imagine getting back to your resort at this hour without one of these options (if staying at a WDW resort you can take a bus from CR to DTD then to your resort but boy will that take a long time and with a very sleepy possibly melting down 4yo I wouldn't suggest it).

Is your 4 year old used to being up late like this? If this is a regular occurance for him then you can consider it but if it's not then you're setting yourselves up for a major meltdown.

My short answer is keep the 11am ADR and drop the 9pm one. You'll be SO happy that you did.

We've had an 11:00 reservation for Chef Mickey's before and we had the best character interaction! Since it was near the end of the brkfst time most of the characters came by twice and a few three times. It was great! Another plus is that you can have a character brkfst but it will actually be your lunch for the day. No missing early morning park touring time.

My vote would be for 11 am! :goodvibes I love late breakfasts because they serve as a lunch too! We usually schedule breakfast late so we can hit the EMH at the Park and beat the biggest crowds of the day which are on there way in! We just do a granola bar or cereal bar before heading to the park to hold us over till the big meal.
I do love dinner... but think that 9 pm is too late with kids. My kids are up late and I still would not plan a 9 pm dinner with them.

11am for sure. We ate at Chef Mickey's at 9pm and were so whacked by then the dinner wasn't enjoyable at all!

Thank you all for your help. Everyone suggested to go with 11 a.m. and gave good reasons. I will go with 11 a.m. without any doubts now :)

Thanks

11 for sure. When our DS was 4 we made the mistake of doing a 9 pm dinner. We weren't concerned because he was a late-night kid. ;) That didn't work out too well for us. The minute he got settled down for dinner, he fell over asleep! DH ended up carrying him to the bus after dinner.
