We have an ADR for Chef De France in a few weeks. Its at 530pm on a Wednesday. We were considering canceling but Im not sure if itd be worth it or if we could find something else to sub in its place (and later since I regret making our ADRs for 530) :(

My question is - Im a picky eater and mainly Im worried there wont be anything for me to eat there. Besides the mixed reviews on the place. I see the beef tenderloin on the menu and I usually go for beef when Im unsure but this has a black pepper sauce and some sort of gratin potatoes (I HATE onions unless its onion soup.. odd I know.) Im pretty sure I would almost regret going some place like WDW and having mac and cheese forget about a $19.00 mac and cheese. Id do it but only if there are some awesome reviews of said mac and cheese.

So should I cancel or just wing it? Its just DH and I and he was wanting to go there until browsing reviews now hes unsure as well.

Thanks!

Steak au poivre (poivre = pepper, as in the sauce at Chefs de France), the sauce is peppercorns and butter, sherry or red wine, and shallots. Those are kind of like onions, so maybe you should get yours without sauce.

Gratin Dauphinois is mashed or sliced potatoes baked with cheese on top - typically gruyere - and cream. If you've ever had potatoes au gratin, it's the same thing but much nicer.

The rotisserie chicken may be an option for you too, since it is just your basic herb-roast chicken with mashed potatoes and a cooked tomato on the side which would be easy to remove if you don't like cooked tomatoes.

We enjoy Chefs de France, and find the food good. It's not five-star French gourmet, but it is good for what it claims to be - a French brasserie/causal restaurant.

We consider Chef de France to be one of the better choices and reviews here on this site are not something to take as fact. There are many reviews on here that rave about terrible restaurants...or restaurants living on their past reputation prior to DDP popularity.

Overall, it you have reviewed the menu and like the choices I would advise you to try the restaurant.

Four of went last year for dinner and everyone got something great.

I had the Mac & cheese and it was to die for. I couldn't finish it.

one my Bffs got the scallops and tiger shimps, She loved it

Her friend got the chicken mentioned above and really liked it. and she's a picky eater.

My hubby got the beef and really enjoyed it. I tasted it and also thought it was great and I'm not a big pepper fan.

Honestly I don't think you'll be disappointed even if you only get the roasted chicken. While I love to read everyone's opinion I always try it anyway. What one person loves is anothers icky meal.

We went there last year, and I too am a picky eater. I was NOT looking forward to it, as I didn't think there would be much for me - even after looking at the menu.

I LOVED IT! Would definetly go back. I had the chicken/potatos and it was truly a fantastic meal. And of course, the desert was amazing too.

I say give it a try. It is really great food. You can always ask for something "on the side" (like a sauce) if you are not sure if you'll like it. Hope you enjoy it.
