A little background. I suffer from an illness that demands a specific and rare medicinal regime, including one drug that makes various foods - including most cheeses - extremely dangerous to eat. Stroke-inducingly dangerous.
Well.
I was at a formal event a few days back. I'd notified the kitchens of my diet and to start with, they were fantastic.
Except... for pudding I was given cheesecake.
I stared at it for a second, called a waiter over and gently explained that I couldn't eat it and that I was sorry.
Next they gave me a cheese platter.
I called the poor waiter over again and once more explained, I can't eat this.
Next came... the cheesecake again.
After that I was pretty much ignored.
Heh. I was a little "cheesed" off
