Have you ever done this before? I ordered my first one today at McDonald's.

I've never been much of a meat eater and lately for some reason I can barely stomach any at all. My nieces are vegetarians and do this at McD's all the time so I thought I'd try it. At first I was so embarassed to order a cheeseburger no meat but the lady was very kind and acted like it was an everyday occurrence. In fact, when I got up to the window, I asked her if people ordered meatless burgers often and she said that they did.

And can I tell you it tasted very good!

Anyone else ever do this or am I the only goofball out there?

Wouldn't that be a cheese sandwich? :teeth:

I used to have this friend who once ordered a cheeseburger without cheese. :confused3

when I was in high school and worked at Tastee Freeze we had a few customers that ordered cheeseburgers with no meat. Especially the Big T which was like a big mac.

I order egg mcmuffins without the nasty bologna all the time. :)

My aunt used to order the Whopper without meat all the time. And I don't like sausage, so if I get any kind of breakfast sandwich I will ask for only the egg and cheese. :thumbsup2

I used to work at McDonalds and we had that happen a lot as well. I think one time we even had someone order a Big Mac without meat too.

I did too and got that request quite often. Back then they used to have McDLT (remember when they used styrofoam) and the meat would be on one side and the top bread along with all the toppings on the other side. We got a lot of those reqeusts as well. The first time someone asked for it I looked at him like he was crazy.

I ordered a Cheeseburger in Paradise without the cheese and without the paradise. :rolleyes1 I just wanted a plain burger!

DH orders a banana split with no bananas all the time!

I do! One of my favorite pregnancy cravings, both this time and with DD, has been Big Macs, without the meat. Yummy!

I think anytime you get a burger at McD's you can be assured that's not "meat" you're eating! LOL!

Way back in the olden days when I was a vegetarian, I used to order a Whopper with cheese, hold the meat. Even back then it wasn't a big deal, and it was a pretty good cheese sandwich. It was hard eating at fast food restaurants if you were a vegetarian about 20 years ago.

Ohh, good idea. I never thought of that!!!!!!!! McDonalds is the only food place around my work and I dont want to live on french fries or salads. That would work in a pinch!

Don't be embarassed. There are more of us vegetarians out there than you think. Restaurants get these kinds of requests all the time.

I've heard mixed things about them letting people do it.
But man, now that sounds good.

Burger King serves up veggie burgers. They're pretty good! :)

Really, are they on the menu or do you have to ask for them? Is it all of the Burger Kings? I would be so shocked to see that out here in hicksville.

I was in a "fine dining" place over the weekend. NOT a thing on the menu (besides a salad) that wasnt meat! Not even a pasta dish to get with out meat! I was starving and I get some lettuce!!!!! :furious: Its very limiting to live out in the sticks.

When I worked at McDonald's, as a teenager, a customer came in and ordered a cheeseburger with no cheese. I replied, "So, you want a hamburger?", and they said, "no, a cheeseburger without cheese!"

:lmao: I couldn't get her to understand a cheeseburger without cheese = a hamburger :rotfl:
