Hi all:thumbsup2

We are visiting Waikiki in August, and having really enjoyed the Cheeseburger in paradise restaurant in Maui many years ago, we are hoping to take our boys to one in Waikiki.

I see that there are three locations in Waikiki, and I wondered if anyone could recommend any of them over the others?

Has one got better views, decor or food than the rest? It would be lovely to eat our burgers overlooking the beach if possible.

Alternatively, is there a better place to have a burger overlooking Waikiki beach? We are arriving from California in the early evening and are staying at the Outrigger Waikiki Beach, and whilst we have some really nice restaurants planned in, I would really just like to grab the boys at quick burger at the beach on that first night - we will all undoubtedly be really tired (we only arrive in California from the UK three days before, so suspect we will still have jet lag, what with two time difference changes, and looking for an early night!) - but it would be great to give them a first glimpse of the famous beach over a burger & fries!

Many thanks for any info:thumbsup2

since you're staying at the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach - no need to go out. The best place ON the beach (and the food is good too) is Dukes right downstairs in the hotel.

Thank you!

We are going to try the Dukes Breakfast Buffet, but originally decided against the Dukes evening menu as thought it was too fussy for the boys, but having looked again due to your suggestion,I see that they also have the Barefoot Bar, is that what you were thinking of?

If we could grab a burger there then that would be terrifically easy! As it's a bar, would our boys (aged 8 and 11) be ok in there?

I should have been more clear: there are two dining options at Dukes. One is the Barefoot Bar - this is what I was suggesting. Casual burgers, sandwiches, salads, etc.

The other is the dining room: more formal dinners.

If you have your heart set on Cheeseburger in Paradise, I would suggest the Waikiki Beach location (on Kalakaua Avenue). IMO, the food at their location in Lahaina is better than on Oahu.

We were posting at the same time! Yes, the boys would be ok in the bar - they just can't SIT at the bar. There are plenty of tables though. Also, depending on the night you go, you might get some live music. It's our favorite place in Waikiki.

That's terrific thank you - great info:thumbsup2

Good to know that the Cheeseburger in paradise isn't as good as Lahaina. It's a long time since we were there, but even then I remember enjoying it more for its location than the food. So I think the Barefoot Bar will be the way to go - no walking and great views - superb choice for us I think!

Thanks again :thumbsup2
