Since the holidays are around the corner, thought y'all might be interested.
Tried these a few days ago and we're addicted! (Also used a leftover hunk of gruyere cheese successfully). Tasty as is - but DH is already plotting how it could be "dressed up" with tiny shrimp or crabmeat or sliced olives as garnishes...
Asiago Toasted Cheese Puffs (makes 12 servings)
1 cup grated Asiago cheese
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1 tsp. pressed garlic
1 tsp. dried oregano
1 tsp. dried thyme
1 tsp. dried parsley
1 french baguette, thinly sliced
Preheat broiler. Combine 1st 6 ingredients (can be done ahead). Spread on baguette slices, broil on baking sheet for 3 minutes or until cheese is melted & lightly browned.
