Cheerleading

So I just realized that the first two weeks of Feb are filled with Cheerleading....ugh

Has anyone ever been during this time? Is it really bad, crowded, alot of things shut off from other guests?

I plan to stay at a value, is this going to be an issue?

TIA

I can't comment about the resort as we haven't stayed there. But our last trio was January/ February right when the Cheerleaders descended. During the day it wasn't too bad as they are competing. But at night it could be a nightmare!! There were groups with no adult supervision, screaming, yelling, singing so loud at 2am (EMH hours) Cheering in lines with no regard for anyone around them..

They were very rude to several people around us, just their manner and the way they would speak. They would talk about other guests not that quietly, refuse to get in ride carriages with anyone else.

It seems like there is negativity towards cheerleaders on this thread, which I don't really get...but...

If you want to avoid them, don't stay at All-Star Sports. From what I understand from others who have been there the same time as them, they don't impact the parks noticeably.

If you ever stayed in a resort with them and were up all night while they ran the halls, cheered, jumped on beds, and knocked on doors you would get the negativity. We got the pleasure of experiencing them at All Stars a few years back, I think it was movies (we got alot so I lose track) and it was horrible. We only had the tale end of our trip 2 days overlap with them but anyother night and it wouldn't have been pretty. Repeated calls to front desk do nothing to help.

I will never stay value during cheer season again and probably wouldn't risk a mod during that time too just incase since they spill over there.

Both of the groups at the beginning of Feb. have the choice of All Stars and CBR. I also read that one of them will be having a party at DHS on Sunday night. (I am pretty sure it was on the 3rd) I am hoping that the party is after the park closes, but either way, I will be avoiding HS that day.

My sister cheered at this competition--assuming it is the same one held annually. As was previously mentioned, avoid All Star Sports. Also, if I am not mistaken they like to use some of the big "conference rooms" at Coronado Springs to stage. You shouldn't see them in huge groups at the parks as many of them don't have to stay with their squad as long as they have the proper number of chaperons per child (which are usually their parents).
