CHEERLEADING competiton

Does anyone know when the Chher leading competition is at the Dsiney WWS complex? I think it is some time in Dec.

I tried to find this info on the Disney website but they only had info about Atlanta Braves Spring Training.

IT is Feb. 9-13 (squads arrive on 9th & compete 10-12 & then depart 13th)

Pop Warner is in December, is that what you are thinking of? Those dates are 12/4-12/10.

Actually the Pop Warner cheerleaders I met were very respectful to other guests. Their energy was contagious. They were so excited to be at WDW!!

They told me they had rules on how late they could practice. So didn't have to worry about being woken up in the middle of the night.

mouseplanet.com lists the cheerleading and dance competitions as coming in April. Of course, lucky me, they'll be there the same weekend I get there! YUCK! I just hope I don't run into any of the problems I've read that other people have had in the past with them!

Oh my goodness! I just laughed so hard when I read that part. So silly!

I wanted to also add that I've read a couple of good things about the cheerleaders on here. (I think it was here. ) Anyway, I read somewhere that some of them were entertaining cranky children in line -- you know, talking to them and stuff. And a couple more cheerleaders helped a woman carry all her stuff back to her room at the resort. So I guess they're not all annoying.

We will be there March 7-14th. With competitions on the 10th and 11th at MGM and WWoS.

This is my first time traveling with the girls but our group has been given many accolades for their good behavior/respect and doing good deeds. We have many letters from hotel managers, bus drivers and restaurant servers saying how great our girls were during their travels.

No, but the competitions are dreaded by CMs. I worked two "dance" competitions (you were taking your life in your hands if you called them cheerleaders) that took place the the Indiana Jones Epic theater at Disney-MGM Studios. It's mostly crowd control, but you also get a lot of nastiness between schools, a lot of teens who don't want to listen when you tell them that sitting on the stairs could be a hazard to others, and a lot of guests who are p.o.'ed that the theater is closed during their vacations.

Don't even get me started on the band competition award ceremonies. Oy.

Not all, just almost all! It's a good activity for kids who lost their "inside" voices.
