My fam and I are going down 05/02 thru 05/09. I thought I was planning around cheering competitions. I just read on a previous post that cheerleaders will be there thru the 4th. Is this correct?????

(No offense, CL's. I cheered competitively all the way thru college) :)

TIA - Amye

We have always gone the first week of May during cheer events and have never run into any. The only thing that came close what a Danskin event closing the AAA Diamond parking. They were virtually unnoticeable.

The event is not actually through May 4. (I saw that on the previous post as well, but the person has the dates wrong.)

The event is actually April 25-April 30, with actual cheer/dance events in the parks only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday the 27th, 28th and 29th.

Yes, people may arrive a few days early or stay a few days after the competition...but among the 50,000 plus on any given day, I don't think a few extra cheerleaders will be a significant bump. Also, it would be hard to find a time during the year when you can visit WDW without some sports or cheer/dance competition going on!

if you're not staying at a value or CBR you probably won't have any issues. If you are staying at one of those I might consider moving to a different resort.

Party Foul: You posted CHEERLEADERS as the title to this thread. When I opened the thread, did I see photos of NFL Cheerleaders. No. I read a question about cheerleaders.

What park do their events take place at?

never mind...finally got the link to play nice with my laptop and it looks like most of the stuff is at Epcot that weekend. Our first park day is the 29th, and I think we'll head over to HS! :)

last year when we were there and they were so RUDE. Finally the cast members went to them and told them to stop doing stunts in front of people. Sorry I am there to enjoy Disney your basket toss does not impress. Plus you know if they dropped someone it would be Disney's fault.
