UGH I am so  ! My honeymoon is scheduled for 2/3-2/8 at CB and I just found out that there is an overflow from Allstars of cheerleaders. I didn't picture my once in a lifetime honeymoon spent quieting loud cheerleaders while they practice outside my door at 5 am. I call WDW travel and none of the other moderates have a king, which I paid extra for. A deluxe King would cos me another $900, which is not possible for us at this point! UGH
I need some pixie dust for my upcoming trip.

Welcome to the DIS, Mrs. Kreamer!

Hopefully it won't be as bad as you are fearing. I stayed at the POFQ one December when the cheerleaders and the pop warner football players were there, and there was only one night when they got really loud (and I'm a light sleeper). Try not to worry about it, and just enjoy your honeymoon :)

I am sorry to hear that. Maybe if you put a request in on your reservation (and remind the desk clerk when you arrive) asking to be put in a quiet section away from where the rooms with the cheerleaders are. The majority of them stay at All Stars, so I imagine the mods won't be over run with them.

I know that they can get pretty rowdy at the All Stars ~ I was a mom who went along with my daughter when she was a HS cheerleader and stayed onsite. I can only vouch for my daughter, who did not do backflips or practice cheers or stunts early in the mornings. But there were so many cheerleaders from all over Florida staying there that I am afraid there were quite a few loud ones.

CBR is a very big resort. Chances are you will be far enough away from them.

Congratulations! :D Definitely request to be FAR away from them when you arrive. Also, if you really want to switch resorts - keep calling. The cancelation policy is 5 days out, so rooms may open up soon that haven't been available. I've had luck within a matter of hours of calling & getting a room that wasn't available & then "suddenly" was. :wizard:

I wouldn't worry about it too much. For two reasons...

First, my daughter is an All-Star Cheerleader and the girls aren't as bad as everyone tries to make them out to be. They're usually really good groups of kids.

Second, last year when we stayed at CBR, there were tons of groups of kids there. They appeared to be high school trips and these kids were NOT supervised at all. However, even though they could get noisy at times, it truly didn't effect our sleep or enjoyment at all.

To truly enjoy Disney..sometimes ya just gotta go with the flow. You'll have a wonderful time. Oh, and CONGRATULATIONS! :rose:

It will be OK. Don't dwell on it too much they don't usually hang out by the rooms. The CB is large. I've been there before with big groups and most of the girls go to the food court area or by a pool. It will be a great honeymoon! Enjoy the magic!

OK I feel better now, I think I just needed to get the frustration out of my system! :earboy2: The thing is I worked at the AS sports, so I know first hand how roudy the kids can be. It's not their fault, if it wasn't for my hubby I would be out there before the sun comes up ready to go. :flower1: I think I will keep checking just to see. What bothered me the most was the cm I talked to at CB. She was beyound rude! :guilty: When I asked her for information she basically said that she was going to connect me with reservations(I had just been connected from reservations) and that I should just reschedule my trip. Now I am sympathetic, I have had people make me cry as a front desk hostess in AS Sports. So it takes a lot for me to say that she was out of line. Oh well, we have some great things planned for this trip, so I am going to be happy! :flower: Oh and thanks for the welcome and congrats!

I have to say that when we ere there in Dec. there was an overflow of cheerleaders. The only way I knew they were cheerleaders was by their hair. They were polite when we saw them. (only saw them when eating) Never heard them. Hope this make you feel better.
Congrats on your marriage.
Debbie

Apparantly the cheerleaders usually are put in Aruba and Jamaica area of the CBR, they are least likely to be in Martinique and Trinidad north as these areas are a little more expensive than the rest of the resort. If I were you I'd ask which area of CBR you're meant to be in.

It is a huge resort ( as I'm sure you know) if the cheerleaders are in the other villages then I'm certain you won't be bothered by them.

In December they were in Martinique!

Congrats, Mrs Kreamer!

I'd check with the resort at check-in and just ask where they are staying - have villages you think you;d like in mind so you can be prepared to request a location far the happy young 'uns ;)

I don't know why, but the CM's at CBR have always been the least friendly of helpful of any Disney Resort in which I've stayed. I love the resort and have stayed there several times, but the CM's do seem to lack that Disney attitude.

Wonder why?

I am always found the CM's at CBR very helpful and charming. I have also been there when the cheer leaders were with no problems.

We were there 1st week in february in 2003 - same week as the cheerleaders. We had no problems at all. We did see them practicing, but they in no way shape or form disrupt us while we were in our room. Were were in a king room in Trinidad North. As another posted suggested put in a request to be assigned away from them (if possible) as it is your honeymoon.

Congrats on your marriage!

We will also be in WDW that week -- WL January 28 - Feb 7!! :jumping4: :cool1: :Pinkbounc

Not sure about the Cheer squads but I do know there is a Dance Team Competition at WWOS the first weekend in Feb. They will be there Thurs, Friday and Saturday, and some of Sunday. They were offered All Star and CBR as choices to book rooms.

We had two REALLY bad years with cheerleaders from h*** at the All Stars, in fact we'll NEVER stay there again because of the way management dealt with it. They were practicing from 6:00am until midnight or later every day. There were large groups that would cut in fornt of you at the foodcourt and bus stop. They were rude and arrogant.

Frankly I'd switch to the DTD Hilton before I'd stay in a resort with cheerleaders again.

Sorry.

Our cheerleading comp is in March. So thats when our girls will be there. I am sorry that some of you had a bad experience with some cheerleaders, but not all are like that. Plus they do want to do well since this is their big time. Most teams make FL the big one and thats ends their year. They build on the FL dream from the first day of practice.

Their dreams should not be allowed to disrupt the vacation dreams of others. Personally I wish that WDW would dedicate one entire resort to the school groups and not allow them to stay anywhere else. That would be the least disruptive to all the other guests.

Anytime you get a large group of children together it becomes disruptive, regardles of how well behaved they are (or their parents might think they are).

Completly understand how you feel. I worked at AS Sports, so I know how they can be. One year we had to get the police to arrest a couple of the kids in the group for drugs. Two nights later some parents from competing teams got into a fist fight. I am not saying that all the groups are like this, but I have dealt with this before and did not want to deal with it on my once in a lifetime honeymoon trip. That is why I booked a moderate resort, not the all stars. Oh well, I was having trouble convincing him why we had to get up early and to the parks before they opened, now I have a good excuse! :cheer2:

I agree. We were at the CSR a couple of years ago and there was a huge group of church youth group members there. We checked in walked to our room and headed straight to the pool, when we got there it was nuts. There were kids EVERYWHERE, throwing each other in the pool with their clothes on, running crazy, going in the baby pool, knocking toddlers over, I was digusted. The life guards just sat there looking over whelmed.

We went back to our room to find that we were in the midst of a teenage take over, kids hanging all over the balconies, sitting on the rails 2 stories up. Kids screaming and yelling in the quiet pool, playing chicken fights like it was spring break, with no adults in sight! It was horrible my 6 year old was scared we were so upset.

We packed our stuff and left. As we were leaving the Sheriffs department was arriving because apparently other guests felt as we did and called them to complain.

DH went down to the front desk and told them we were leaving they offered to move us to another section and basically said there's nothing we can do, we know it's bad, guests are calling the Sheriffs department. We were told there were around 1000 kids at the resort. We called down to CRO and after being disconnected 3 times on our cell phone, we managed to get a room at the CR we took it. We received the last non-smoking garden wing room, with a view of a wall, we didn't care because it was quiet.

Not sure if I'll ever go back to CSR again, my kids still call it the teenager hotel. ;)

During the first week of February it is Dance Team not Cheerleaders. They are usually more docile and less flamboyant in nature than cheerleaders. Dance Team squads are generally small and their routines are comprised of lesser stunts and are set to music not cheers. According to the UDA website last years Dance team competition was comprised of around 100 schools. Thats not a lot of people. I dont think they will be much of a problem. Someone else posted in another thread that the Dance Competition was only gonna be around 5000 people including chaperones and coaches. In a place the size of Disney thats small potatoes.
