Cheerleaders at DHS in May?

So after agonizingly planning out our first Disney trip in May of this year based on cross-referencing multiple site's crowd calendar and recommended days, I just found out from my cousin that May 3 DHS is hosting some sort of cheerleading event. I have May 3 as our day at DHS- will this have a big impact on our day? JTA is a must and we have ADRs for Hollywood & Vine and the Fantasmic package at The Brown Derby. Just wondering if I should try to switch days, maybe with AK? Has anyone experienced the cheerleader weekend?

There is a major All Star Cheer comp that weekend - The Summit (I will be there for it). The event at HS is the After Celebration. It takes place after HS closes and is a special ticket event. I was there last year as well. Many teams are still competing or waiting for awards at ESPN World. Most athletes would most likely wait for the after party since they will have the park to themselves. Dining reservations near park close may be difficult to get or may be loud as many athletes plan to eat dinner just before the park closes and then stay for the party. Hope this helps.

While they may be in large groups and a little loud, they are generally well behaved and polite. Cheer gyms generally have very strict rules about athlete behavior. If you do experience a rude group, politely call them out on it, they will generally be very responsive to it.
