My daughters were both competitive cheerleaders in high school and Allstar.
I am sorry that some people have had bad experiences during competiton time.
Truthfully, I wouldn't want to be staying at the Allstars while they are there.
However, for the high school competition our girls were only allowed to miss three days of school total. Their high school team practiced 20 hours a week from April until the competition in March(plus tumbling classes and games). They had gym time booked at a local gym in Orlando, traveled in rented vans, and spent most of their time at the actual competition. The team had only 2-3 hours of actual park time.
Of course, these were nationally ranked teams, so they were there to win, not to play. I am sure they could still be silly, but I would think that they would be way too tired, hoarse, and exhausted to do much needless chanting. Performing for thousands of people and for ESPN is big time stressful. They work all year for a two minute performance and most of the girls have been in gymnastic training since they were little kids, preparing. One slip by one person blows it for the whole team. You might want to watch the UCA national high school finals on ESPN. It may not be at all what you expect.
The principal, vice principal, faculty sponsors, coaches, and many parents traveled with the team. The principal was very proud of the national ranking of the team and held the girls to strict behavior standards, both on trips, at school, and in the community.
Check the UCA website. The girls are there for three days. If you don't want to be around them, plan around them!
