I have been so worried about our trip in March (the week before Easter). Alot of the resorts are booked for that week so I have been contemplating whether to cancel our trip and wait until October.

I have just read on another thread that cheerleaders will be there that week! Easter crowds, springbreak crowds, and now cheerleaders :scared1: Are there any of you Diser's out there that think I should go ahead and cancel. Its not that I have anything against cheerleaders but I dont think I want to stand in 120 min. lines to ride anything. Our vacations are few and far between, and expensive! Thanks for any advice.

Our cheerleaders will be there from March 5-12th of March.
Easter is the 23rd. I don't know of any other cheer events for the week in between.

Augh! I'm in the same boat as you! I'm considering canceling and postponing our trip until later!
I feel exactly the same way... spring breakers, Easter people and now cheerleading events... There will be cheerleaders there, I did a search and there is the americheer competition from March 14-16... sigh... exactly when we'll be there :(

We are going March 14-21st. I am not worried!!! Our last trip was Dec 19-26, 2006 and the crowds were not bad then. I can't believe that they could be bad this time. BUT - we used fastpasses whereever we could to ride the big rides.

It was fine....

Whatever you decide, have a wonderful trip.

Well be there sufferering with you :goodvibes . DD's Bday trip is March 14-18 Does anyone know where the Cheerleaders are staying? I'm hoping all stars since we are booked at Pop.

We did the week before Easter 2 years ago. 120 min standby line waits, all fastpasses gone within an hour of park opening, very crowded busses and monorail. We waited in line for Soarin 145 minutes!!!!! We are not commandos so there was no way I was going to be running at rope drop to get a fastpass.

If I had an option to go at a different time, I would. However, if you have children in school, it's not as bad as Christmas break plus the weather in the spring is so much nicer than the weather in the summer.

And the cheerleaders are not so bad. They are cheering most of the time and you won't notice their addition to the crowd levels.

They will be staying in the AS (all of them) and CBR. Competition dates are March 14-16

I am not sure what competition is March 14-16 but I know we will be there for a competiton March 7-9. We will be staying a ASsp but the package does offer the CBR also. :cheer2:

wow... I had no idea! We'll be there the 11th to the 15th... and no I'm not worried.

In fact, we kind of like it. These large groups take up a lot of rooms that would have otherwise gone to families traveling. Groups are rarely in the park, and when they are, they travel in "packs"... therefore very easy to avoid. My point is, I'd much rather have hundreds of families with a priority to cheer, then hundreds of families with a priority to go to the parks. That make sense?

One thing I've learned is that Disney is WAY too unpredictable in regards to crowds. Even this past mid-september It's a Small World had a 25min wait... give me a break! It seems that everyone is catching on to the "slow times" of Disney. Just like it's doing with you, these slower months are pulling people away who would have normally traveled during Spring Break, etc. Of course its not to say that it "evens" out... but there isn't too much of a "crowd" difference between my week of travel and mid-October according to the UG.

Alright I knew we would be dealing with Easter break crowds, but cheerleader competitions in March? :cheer2: I had no idea. The closer we get to our trip the more freaked out I get about how crowded it is going to be. We are there March 8th-18th so we will be there for both competition dates mentioned in this thread.

Oh well we will still be in Disney World! :wizard:

Yes, we will be in WDW so I should just stop worrying so much! Thank you all for your opinions and well wishes. It's exactly why I luv the Dis sooooo much!

We are arriving on March 14 and staying until March 23....I'm not worried about the cheerleaders or the spring breakers or the easter week beforers...LOL.

I guess....I expect WDW to be crowded...really crowded .... since I can only go when the kids are out of school. To compensate....I plan...I read the boards....I make my ADR's.....I listen to advice....and every time....no matter how crowded .... we have the best time.

This time we can't wait to go....we're trying waterskiiing for the first time....the Spa at the Dolphin....my DH and DS are going to see the Atlanta Braves at the Wide World of Sports....We go early.....on NON-EMH days and we take breaks. Now that my DD and DS are older....they can go "off" on their own a little bit and they don't complain in my ear when I want to watch the World Showcase films and stop and see the entertainment.

Maybe it's the magic....maybe its that we don't get to go all the time....but we have so many wonderful family memories and some of them are from the talks and jokes we've had standing in line.

So my advice, IMHO, is to relax, enjoy, you're a planner because you're here....LOL and I don't think you'll have anything to worry about.
