Cheering team renting a car for race day - a good idea?

Hey, all, just had a thought. Next year's Princess run will be my first Disney race and my fiance and mom will be cheering me on. They know all the highways around WDW well, and would have an iPhone with a map on them. We all have annual passes and are DVC members, so no parking fees/restrictions into the parks/resorts would be involved. What if they were to rent a cheap-o car from Alamo's car care center on WDW property for zooming around cheering me on from various points during the race? Price would be $44. for the one day. I'm thinking - the Animal Kingdom parking lot, MGM entrance (since parking is right by the entrance - a short walk), YC/BC (parking easy, walk to the "beach"), then the Epcot parking lot for the finish, just by looking at the last half of the marathon and the Minnie courses. I'll be running slow miles, just enjoying my first Disney race and taking pictures, like in the 12-15 minute range I think, so should be enough time for them to move from point to point. I'm just concerned about the traffic I've heard about during the marathon, etc. This run is so much smaller, though, that I'm thinking the traffic issue will be a lot less dire than the big races. Anyone ever done this or have heard of this idea before?

ETA: We're flying in, using a private transfer, and are not interested in renting a car for the entire vacation. Just this one day.

I'm not completely sure how this new course will be laid out, but there will be road closures that will complicate getting around and GPS won't know about those closures. In the past WISHers have used Disney transportation to scream team.

My DH wondered if riding his bike around would be a good option to see me race.

Anyone know about that?
