Cheddar Cheese Soup at le Cellier

DH and I have always wanted to eat at Le Cellier, but sadly it is not going to work out again this trip

One of the main reasons we want to try Le Cellier is for the Cheddar Cheese Soup...Does anyone know if you can go to the restaurant and order the soup to go?

Sorry, I don't believe you can order anything to go from the sit-down restaurants. I believe, the only way you can get anything "to go", is if it's left-overs from your dinner.

1) Alas, no take-out.
2) However, during Food & Wine Feswtival, you can get it at the booth.

Not that it's the same at all but a while ago I found the recipe posted online. I didn't make it at home but plenty of people did and reported good results.

I swear I have read a post on here somewhere, quite some time ago, about someone asking at the front podium if they could have an order of the cheese soup and they did it for them.
Now I can't comment on it, as I have never done it, but I fully intend on trying it with their mushroom risotto on our next trip. If you can wait until September, I will let you know.

We got soup and pretzel bread to go in December. DH went in about a half hour after they opened.

The CM there said it just depends on who is working because they need to go in the back and get it.

There have been reports in the past that people have been able to do so.

However, I have read as many reports where people were told no.

As such, I do not believe it is something that can be counted on and, if you do try it, expect to be told no. It really seems to be dependent on how busy it is and who the CM is.

According to a very recent post on Disney's Food blog, to go is possible. Even with the two credit switch to dinner, reservations are still booking 180 days out all day long. I need to get on the Internet right after midnight eastern nest trip to get this soup!!!!

My wife has made it several times, including this past Monday night.
It's relatively easy to make, and even half the recipe was more than 4 bowls of soup.

Yes, you can order both the soup and bread sticks to go. It actually occurs quite often. Just order from the host or hostess at the front podium. It is a little bit more to order to go than to actually dine there though. I placed an order for my husband when he was stuck at the BCV's sick.

I think, as others have said, it depends on the Cast Member working the podium. I have read plenty of reports from people saying they were able to order the soup and pretzel bread to go, but the results seems inconsistent. I recommend going to the restaurant during an off hour -- maybe first thing when it opens -- and seeing if the host will accommodate you.

Not trying to stir up trouble but i just have to say it...the soup is good but is SO overrated! You would think from the reactions on these boards that it was liquid gold. Like I said, it is good. Have had better soups by a mile at nice restaurants here in NJ and NYC

We love Canada's cheese soup, but when we were unable to get a ressie we went to England for the potato leek soup. It's a really good soup too.
