Sitting at the airport after staying at the Disneyland Hotel for the past few nights.

I wish there was a way to tell housekeeping when we planned to leave on checkout day so they don’t knock on our door at 8 am when we plan to get up at 9 am to leave by 10 am and just lose that extra hour of sleep because I can’t get back to sleep thanks to morning nausea (thanks, pregnancy).

Yes, we had the do not disturb sign up.

Yes, I do understand that they have to turn rooms over.

I’m still going to be a little bitter about it.

Signed,
A tired, nauseous, pregnant person.

It’s quite purposeful and really annoying.
I’m thinking ahead to future trips and wondering if I have to start leaving notes on the door. “If you knock and wake up the kid, you are responsible for getting them back to sleep or providing babysitting. We will leave the room at [X time]. Check back then.”

That is not only annoying but it is not right. If you have the Do Not Disturb sign up and hotel policy is check out up to 11:00am you are perfectly in your rights to stay in your room till then. I would have complained to the front desk. Hotel service just ain't what it used to be. Hope your nausea passes soon, dry crackers were the only thing that helped me. I think the company's sales sky rocketed that year I was pregnant. :rotfl2:

Not a bad idea. I would sure do that but then I am known as Attila the Hun in my family so I may not be the right person to take advice from. :mic:

I’m planning to reach out with feedback. I just hope they’re considering some kind of system for checkout alerts. I would gladly use it.

Apparently my “soothing food” is goldfish crackers. I don’t want to know how many cartons I’ve gone through already. 😆

In app there is a start checkout where you pick time plan to leave. Once selected you wait till when want to submit checked out or go to front desk and do it. It may not keep the morning knock to stop but it was available at 6am. I selected 11am. Left room at 10;30. No knocking.

Maybe the option to check out last was missing from the app last night as part of a glitch where using the app wouldn’t unlock doors yesterday. But if it didn’t show up before I went to sleep (so after midnight), I wouldn’t have been able to fill it out before they woke me up anyways, I guess.

I'm sorry they woke you up! That's so frustrating. I'd write and give feedback, for sure. Hope the goldfish crackers help :)

Uh-oh, that doesn't sound good. Did you have to tromp back to the reception desk and get a physical key?

I personally did not- thankful for a spouse who was willing to do that while I sat on the ground and waited, ha ha.

When my family would be checking out of our room at Disneyland Hotel when we would be leaving to go home the housekeepers never knocked on our door "except once" to ask us if we were ready to go so they could service our room and we would tell them "not yet" because we had to make sure we had everything and were not forgetting anything in the room. And once we finished we would tell the housekeeper that the room was ready and then we'd walk to our car. Next time when you go to Disneyland and are staying at Disneyland Hotel and you run into this problem tell your housekeeper that you need a few more minutes before she can service your room after you leave because you really need to make sure that you have everything with you and not leaving anything behind
Hope this advice helps Kestryl
