Checking status of Park Hoppers?

Hi,
Can the days left on Park Hoppers purchased in the past only be checked at the resorts and parks on Disney property? I have some old park hoppers purchased before Animal Kingdom opened (I know I wouldn't be able to use them there then) and I'd like to see if they have any days left on them. Being in Chicago, it isn't exactly convenient to go all the way to Disney just to see if there are some days left (Although...any excuse to go!) ::MickeyMo The Disney store doesn't check the days left on hoppers does it? Does anywhere? Thanks much!

Sorry - there isn't anywhere to check the status of tickets that isn't on site somewhere.

Best wishes -

Just thought I would let you know what I did in this case. I had a freind that was going to WDW and she took my tickets and checked them for me. So if you know anyone going they could take it to a guest services counter and get those checked for you.

Good Luck!

Any of your old tickets are now valid for AK. How you can use them depends on which ticket you have. Ones with the magnetic strip already on the back (post-1996 tickets) can be used at AK as is. Ones without them (pre-1996) can be used at AK after exchanging (for free) the old ticket at a Guest Relations location for a magnetic strip ticket.

Wow, now they CAN be used at new parks even if purchased before park existed? I was there last December and we had to buy new tickets and couldn't use our old Park Hoppers for AK. That's unfortunate because we didn't care for AK after having spent all that $ on it. :snooty: Thanks for all the advice and info, everyone. I do know of a friend going in a few weeks. I wonder if it would be too much to ask of her to check them while she's there ?

You actually are not allowed to use the ticket there. What happens is they will take the tickets there though. So it is a catch 22 you aren't suppose to but they will take it if you show up there.

I just need some clarification. They will take away my Park Hoppers if I try to use it at AK but they will still let me in the park? If this is what you are saying, then if I do have 1 day left I can use it at AK, they just take away my hopper (no more switching parks that day or any other days if I have more days open on the card)? princess:

I think he meant "take" the pass as accept for admission rather than "take" the pass as in confiscate it!

IIRC you can go to guest relations and have your old PHP converted to a new one with a magnetic strip and the same number of days/plus options. You should be able to use it at all the theme parks including AK regardless of its age - as long as it still has at least one park admission left.

To be sure why not call guest relations and ask? They will not be able to tell you how many days or plus options are left but they should be able to give you the information you need regarding the pass and its use at AK. The actual number of admission days and or plus options can be only be determined at the park when you get to WDW.

Thanks TJMW. I feel silly admitting I just didn't know what the prase "catch 22" meant. :o The park tickets actually say the hoppers can only be used for parks that exist when ticket is purchased. I dunno why when we checked in at CBR last December they made us buy new tickets assuring us the old ones would not work at AK. All about $$$ I guess.

That's cool - there are limitations to the bb's.

I would not rely on what the CM's at the resort say, they are experts at the resorts not the park admissions. When you do get to WDW just go to guest relations at any park and ask them to check # of days and options and give you the best use of the tickets. There really is no way to know for sure what is left and where it can be used until you get there. I do know that the resort computers can only read some tickets but guest relations should be able to handle everything.
