I searched the forum but could not find an answer to this particular question. I also plan on contacting DCL, but the forums will probably give me a better answer...
We are flying to Puerto Rico for the 4-day Wonder cruise from PR to Port Canaveral next month. We are spending a few days in on the island prior to the cruise, and I would like to buy a couple of bottles of rum that they only sell on the island to bring back with us. I don't want to try and sneak it on board, but Embarkation day is a bit different than a port call, and wonder if there are policies in place to "check" liquor purchased on the island. I don't want to lose it, which I heard happens in Port Canaveral, and I don't want to pay to have it shipped back home, since we live in Orlando.
Does anyone have any experience with cruises that depart from a foreign port, and how DCL handles liquor from that perspective? I simply want to hand it over to a cast member until the end of our cruise. I am considering just sticking it in our checked luggage, as there I know they will either miss it altogether or take it, and if they do, I can get it back when we disembark.
