checking room availability?

We are hoping to stay at BWV in a studio in late January. We are going to need to borrow points though so we aren't ready to book it just yet

is there a way I can find out if there is any room availability left without booking it just yet?

Well, you're within 7 months, and if you're planning to borrow you're an owner...so I don't see any reason why you can't just call and ask about the resort/villa size you want...of course, what's available today may not (probably won't) be available tomorrow...there's no way that I know of to "hold" a villa pending a final decision--but you can call and ask, and can also ask how many villas are available...I don't know that MS "has to" answer that question, but I've asked it before and had it answered...

When you usually call MS to find out availability and make a reservation, you are not actually required to make the reservation at that time, so you can just call and find out. Nevertheless, that will provide only current information and, when you are this close to a date, if you found out today that there is availability, you could call tomorrow and learn there is nothing left.

Thanks for the info I figured I probably had to call. They are closed for the night LOL so I was hoping there was a way I could check online so that I could at least have peace of mind that it's not filled up at this very moment (even though I know that could change in the blink of an eye lol)

when I called for a BWV studio two weeks ago I was looking for Jan. 26, four nights the 26th was sold out, but for some strange reason the BCV was available and I grabbed it.

I agree, you need to call. If you're looking for a standard studio, depending on your dates, it may not be available. I've been waitlisted since JUNE for a standard studio for 2 different dates and it still hasn't come through. Here are the dates I'm waitlisted for. Granted each of my waitlist are 5 nights, so if you're looking for a smaller stay, you may be lucky.

Jan. 18-22
Jan. 23-28

When I called in June (first day of the 7 month window) some days were available, but often too many holes in the middle of the stay. I did book OKW which was the same points as BWV standard studio, so if I get either, my point balance will stay the same.

When you call, you should have a backup resort in mind. You can certainly do like I did and book OKW and waitlist for BWV, esp. since the points were exactly the same.

I don't understand what borrowing points has to do with making the reservation.. The points just need to be available for the time of the reservation. You should be able to borrow those points when you call from your next use year. Hope you are able to get the days you want and hopefully the resort. Good luck
