Checking out, what to do

We are scheduled to check out 1/20/07, our flight doesnt leave until 7:20pm. We are staying at BWV, will the hotel hold our luggage until we are ready to use DME? Can anyone give us some advice what they do on check out day, when flight doesnt leave until late like ours?!?!

We always take a late afternoon/early evening flight. We have bell services hold our luggage (if no car otherwise we throw everything into the car). Then we either go into one of the parks or go to DTD to finish up shopping and have lunch at Earl. There have been times we've had to go to BW convention center to ship stuff home cause we bought that much more at DTD.

For many airlines, you can check-in during the morning hours (I think they close at 1:00) at the BWV. You will get your boarding passes at that time, and you will pick up your luggage at hour destination airport carousel.

DME will pick you up 3 hours prior to your flight so 4:20 in your case.

We checked out Thanksgiving day and went to the community hall around 11;00 and then had lunch on the boardwalk. DME came at 12:50 and we got to the airport about 1:20. Very nice. We check out at the airport desk in the lobby and they took our luggage and gave us boarding passes.

You could go to Epcot and have a late lunch and hang out in World Showcase. If you have kids the community hall is great. They have 3 playstations, a big screen TV, crafts, air hockey and ping pong. Also the quite pool is just outside.

We always check our bags/ get boarding passes and then go to epcot. we always finish our trip with a lunch at BCV Beaches & Cream.

I think we will visit community hall next time too!!

You don't want to hear this but for years we lived in England and had a night flight out. We'd keep the room for a night we wouldn't actually use and leave the room around 4:00 or 5:00. A bit of a waste, I know, but it was always nice to be able to take a shower and change before heading to the airport.

If you are flying on an airline that does not allow you to check your luggage at the resort, then leave your bags with Bell Services. Just be sure you get back to the resort well in advance of your DME departure time so that you have plenty of time for Bell Services to retrieve your bags for you. Bell Services can be quite busy at times and it might take 10-15 minutes to get your bags.

The last few times we have swam but I find that I am clock watching the whole time, next time we will hit a park, that way we are all busy and enjoying our last few hours of magic.
