Checking MDE today for when FPP are gone at big rides!

This is probably my biggest pet peeve with FP+, not knowing what I'm working with makes it harder to plan, and complete lack of control is a major stressor for most people. FP- was straightforward, no hidden workings - you knew what you knew when you knew it, now decide and plan accordingly. Other than checking the app over and over again, you're just at the mercy of the behind the scenes stuff. The kiosk-4th even worse, because theoretically you could stand in line for 15 minutes and find no availability for Space, then the guy behind you does because somewhere in the park somebody happened to cancel, or Disney chose at that exact second to drop more slots in.

FP- was first come, first served, FP+ is now first come, try your luck at the wheel? :confused3

thanks for posting this info, op.

easywdw identifies this as a crowd level 7 day, and UT ranks it as an 8. just so we can keep the info in context.

Just for fun, I checked FP+ availability just now for PP, SM and TT. PP and SM are showing availabilty from mid-afternoon on, and TT is showing availability for this evening. Apparently the landscape changes constantly.

I think this shows us when an attraction is listed as out of FPP and"stand by only" to keep rechecking these attractions they are changing quickly at the Magic Kingdom!

I am seeing lots of availability at 12:30 pm for everything that was once out even Toy Story Mania... It looks like checking on extra fast passes today at 12:30 would have been great but who knows what the future holds.

That would be annoying enough with the app, but unworkable using only kiosks. :crazy2:

I'd like to see someone test out whether the app and a kiosk give them the same choices at roughly the same time. I'd also love to know if someone with an AP and someone with a regular ticket are given the same options at the same time.

The whole thing is crazy-making and the 4th FP just makes it worse.

Not to go off topic on this thread, but the other thing that makes this crazy is that some things load in at different times, like the parades and fireworks.

It's not only the insane amount of time you have to spend planning your days now (over and over), but that you can't even sit down, dedicate a couple of hours to booking all your FP and be done with it, but you are constantly monitoring unfinished plans because they haven't given you all the options at the same time. Not only that, they don't even let you know when the 'irregular' ones like fireworks and parades are released. I have booked mine and closed the book on it. I am not even bothering to look for 7DMT or fireworks viewings. I am so tired of being glued to my plans with them never being complete.

I think that making people go to the kiosks for a 4th FP is a way of initially controlling how many people actually try to get one. I know I wouldn't bother if the kiosk line itself was 30 minutes long. If the 4th FP was immediately available via smartphone app, everybody would try it, but who knows if supply could keep up with demand. IMHO this is just another test phase, and if things go ok, hopefully in the future we can use the app to add a 4th.

:thumbsup2
