Vacation Part One in one city. Then flying to Vacation Part Two in Orlando. Flying Southwest so two free checked bags.

I would like to put the dirty laundry in a small duffel bag and check it. I typically check bigger bags. Any concerns about checking something small which is soft-sided?

I know it could end up under something heavy but it’s just dirty laundry. The larger bag that I will check will be pretty full so i would like to separate this stuff out.

(Original plan had been to ship home the dirty laundry but fed ex won’t be open at a time i can get there.)

Fabric? Canvas or ripstop nylon? No problem - except you might want to put the laundry in a scented trashbag before putting it in the duffell. Cotton, like my Vera Bradley weekender which I wouldn't have any idea how to post a picture of? Not so much.

I have checked large and small duffel bags many times, including my Vera Bradly, so far I have had no issues. If the bag has a longer strap that is removable, remove it before you check it so that it doesn't get caught in the machinery. If it has longer handles that can't be removed like my VB, then tie up the handles together so that they are not too long (I just knot them together a couple times).

Yeah, we sometimes check our kid’s laughably small bags/luggage. No issues in our experience.
