Checking in!

I am very glad you and your family are okay! I am also glad to hear you were able to bring your cats. We live in MS and if we were ever to have to evacuate (I live very far north so it's not as likely to be an issue for us but just in case...) I told Dh we would have to bring our 4 cats and 3 dogs (the fish we would have to leave of course) b/c they are definitely part of our family and I would be so upset to leave them. We have 2 big kennels such as you described that would fit them all but it would be a tight squeeze in our vehicles. But whatever kept them safe...

Anyway, I am just relieved that all of you and your cats are okay. Hopefully your home is okay too!

And thanks for sharing your story. It's always good for us to read what evacuees have to go through to stay safe. Makes the situation a little more real for those of us that have not experienced it as of yet.

Hey Tammi-- would you say  to Fredricksburg for me? I'm missing Texas horribly.

I hope all is well with your home. I suspect you'll get to go home before another week or so.

Meanwhile, take care. We'll be thinking about yo!

Will do, Rx3!

Thanks Bumcat. I think we'll probly wait until at least Wed before we even try to come home -- make sure Rita doesn't turn and come back through again

Glad you are safe and sound. I hope everything goes well for you from this point forward too. :grouphug:

Thank you for checking in, Raj. So very glad that you are okay. I was thinking of you all weekend...and still am.

Please say hi to your kitties because Aero and OJ wished them well and some catnip.

Rajah - That would probably be a good idea. Just saw on the news that many are starting to return. Hwy 183 around Austin is starting to get heavy.

Thanks for the traffic update, Bumcat.

Right now, we're talking about waiting until Tues or Wed before returning. Give the crowds a little bit of a chance to die down, and give enough time for power and gas to be restored.

We did hear from my mom's neighbor, who stayed nearby, said that her only damage was to her fence and a downed tree from another neighbor which took down the power lines in her back yard.

Haven't heard anything about our area, except to know that my friends' friend who lives a couple of neighborhoods north of us returned home and they had no damage, so he suspects we're fine as well.
