Checking In

Hi Everyone,

My family of 4 will be going on our first Disney Cruise in May. I am nervous about that first morning getting on the ship. We will be staying the night before at the Radisson.

I was hoping that some of the DCL experts here at DIS would have some tips to make this as painless as possible.

There should be nothing painful about it. Make sure that all of your documents are filled out properly. They started letting us on board a little early. They have tons of cast members helping and they also have tv's set up for kids to watch Disney cartoons. It was a breeze. Have a great time.

After seven days of quality time resort-hopping at WDW, I'll head for the port, documents, and Service Dog in hand. Watch for the huge black Lab about to do his first cruise, too. We sail the 16th.

Honestly, checking in is extremely painless. You really do need to have the documents filled in before hand (something to do on the airplane!!). Make sure you have your birth certificates/passports readily available, as well as the adults photo id, and the credit card you plan to use.

Only one of you needs to stand in the check in line. It usually goes pretty quickly, but there's no reason for all of you to wait in the line.

We stayed at the Radisson before our cruise last year and we were first timers too. Worked perfectly....
When we checked in we asked for a 10:40 shuttle in the morning and they picked us up on time and we got to port by 10 till 11:00.

We checked in with ease and got in line by 11:00. We were about the 7th family in line and we sat down and I had colors and books for the kids. We ended up having several other children start to color with mine. Everyone was happy... My Uncle walked around some and the kids would get up and go with him and we saved our spot. It was no time and we boarded the ship and it was so cool to see the Pool empty and be one of the first of the buffet.

We leave next week for our second Disney cruise and this time we have a group of 12 We are all so excited.

We have the same plan and this time we are getting into town early so we can spend the day in Cape Canaveral. We are going to Grills seafood and Tiki bar for dinner and watch the MAGIC set sail...
