Not that its happened to me ( yet ) but if I get to the front desk to check in and realize I forgot my members card what can I do will they give me a temp one and if so where right there at bwv front desk? I'm trying to plan worst case senarios for my first trip "home " this way I'll be prepared

thanks everyone !

You don't need a members card to check in....just the usual drivers license photo ID works just fine.

In fact, you don't need the "blue card" DVC ID for most of the trip. There are many DVC perks, but we have rarely been asked to view the card since the room key has "DVC Member" typed on the bottom of it.

If you forget your ID, I wouldn't stress over it. Chances are you won't need it anyway.

Having said all that, I always bring mine with me. In several trips, I've rarely had to pull it out and show it to anyone.

Enjoy your first trip home! :)

I'm posting just because I want the honour of posting after Granny! ;)

I've never been asked for the card at check in. If you need a temp card, you can get one at the SSR sales centre - takes about 10 minutes to get the card.

I've never been asked for a member ID card

We have used it and needed to show it at the Swan/Dolphin. There are restaurants there that offer 20% discount.

Bobbi :)

No one has aswked me for mine yet.

It does come in handy for some priviledges and discounts though, sucha s restaurants and valet parking

The only time we were asked for the blue card was for the DVC discount at an EPCOT resturant. We had a "DVC member" room key, but they still wanted the blue card. I alway carry mine so it was not big deal. I have never been asked for the blue card at check-in.

Only time the key with "DVC Member" printed on it didn't do the trick for me was at Wolfgang Puck Express in Downtown Disney for the 20% discount.

Thnaks guys , yeah I know you dont need it to check in but I was thinking for valet parking and such " by the way could you park the car for me , no really its free I AM a member " :rotfl2:

thanks guys

You may need it for perks. I used it at Chef's Le France and Marrakesh. Just put it in your wallet, right this second ;) and if you forget your wallet? Well, don't!!!
I keep a folder with my reservations, ADR's, plane tickets, AP's etc. That way everything is in one place and it gets packed in my overhead bag!

You'll need the blue member card if you purchase your discounted AP or PAP at WDW.

I have lost my ID cards and called 3 times about getting replacements. They were supposedly reordered each time and I have never received them. I did order AP with dvc discount. What can I do?

I would call again and make it clear that we need our cards. I had to call twice to get mine, my DH's came right away. Apparently, not getting the cards is common!
