Hello--I have learned so much from you all so far--thank you!
this sun I will be checking into the GRand Californian. I called the resort and yes I can check in as early as I want (even though room wont be ready) so that I can take advantage of the early morning entry. I ordered my tickets on line and have printed my vouchers. The lady said I could just present them at the turnstyles (or gate thingy) and that they would give me hard tickets there? Is that right? also-will it take long--want to make sure we don't spend too much time doing that... thanks again--so excited!:goodvibes

Yes, you present your DISNEY (not Getaway) website printed tickets to the CM AT the turnstile & they'll give you semi-hard tickets (which will get you thru the turnstiles & you will also use them for FP collection). It adds 10 - 15 seconds when you're walking thru the turnstyle....not at all a pain for you or those behind you.

& Be sure to get your GCH room receipt when you arrive (check in) & before walking to the DL turnstiles......you'll need this receipt as well if you're wanting to enjoy MM.

:)

I have checked in super early at GCH (like 6:30 a.m.!). It was nice to get all the money and paperwork out of the way at the GCH before everyone else arrived to check in. Also, it is a good time to arrive in case you want to ask for a (possible free) upgrade to another room or whatever. We got our room keys right then and all we had to do was call a phone number they gave us later in the day from the park and ask if our room was ready. Ours was ready well before 3 p.m. - probably about 1:30 p.m. or so. We never had to go back to the front desk of the hotel at all, unlike in the old days, where we would always have to return to pick up the keys. Your room might be ready when you arrive - you never know. If GCH was not booked up the night before and they have rooms available, yours MAY be ready, but of course, they don't tell you that. So you just have to assume you wait until 3 p.m. And of course, unless you incur more charges to your room bill that have to be dealt with, most of the time now you don't need to 'check out.' You can just leave the room by 11:00 a.m. and that's it. No need to go to the front desk.

I also ordered tickets online and printed out the vouchers. We took them to the turnstiles and got the 'real' tickets and it took ten seconds, at most. It is super fast. They have everything streamlined at DLR now to save time!

thank you all so much--I learn so much here!
