We are going to AKV 11/9 &11/10, then moving to BLT for 11/11-11/16. Can I check In online for both now? Or do I just check in for the first two nights and then check in in person for the BLT stay?

You can do both now since you are less than 60 days out on both. Each is a separate reservation for which you can check in separately on-line.

You probably want to make sure you "check out" of AKV before going to BLT. We moved from BLT to BCV in May and I had to wait almost an hour for them to finish my check in, even though I did it online weeks before. The supervisor came out and told me that BLT had not checked me out, even though it was in the afternoon.

We've done splits stays almost every DVC trip since October 2010. It never took them an hour to check us in. And we didn't go down an tell BLT to check us out. For awhile we did receive our statement under the door and now we get it via email during the small hours of the morning. I would assume you are checked out if you get a statement.

That sounds reasonable.

I don't ever remember having to check out. I think we always got a statement under the door. But, we didn't go last year, so it feels like a long time since we have been to Disney. We plan to make up for it by going twice this year though!:cool1:

We had an issue with our split stay last time, too. Because I was using gift cards for some of the charges, I checked out of AKV in person. We checked into the second hotel no problem, but found that when we tried to pay for our dinner with our room key, we were denied. After 20 minutes of the restaurant trying to figure out what was going on, they came out and told me the card was being rejected. Luckily, I had a ccard on me. When we returned to our resort after dinner, I checked with the front desk and--I don't fully understand what happened, but--apparently I was never fully checked out of AKV in the morning, wreaking havoc in their system. I guess even though I was using my new room key, my AKV account was being pulled up and no ccard was on file any longer. Weird. It wasn't a big deal, but I will be sure to carry my ccard on me on transition days from now on!

I don't think we've EVER officially checked out of a DVC resort, and we have only done multiple reservations (aka split stays).

Since they look at it as multiple reservations, you should be able to check in to each once your 60 day window opens for each stay.
