I tried to do the online check-in this mornning since we are 10 days out today. I went through the process and got a message that said "Sorry, online check-in is not available. Try again later." Can anyone who has done this, tell me if there is something wrong with the website or do I need to wait until tomorrow. Thanks for any help.

I saw something about how you could check-in 10 days before you arrive.... or something like that. I've never heard of this before. Does anyone know anything about this? What are the benefits of it?

The benefit is they get your credit card number ahead of time so your room keys are printed and ready to be picked up when you arrive.

There is an express lane in the lobby for online check in.

The main benefit is a much shorter line at check in. We were at POR 3/21 and used on line check in. I waited for 3 people in front of me. The regular check in line must of had at least 100 people in it. The line was so long it went out of the building.

Think of on line check in as your first FastPass of the trip.

If I want to do this, how do I go about doing it? Also, we aren't leaving a creit card on file, can I still do this?

To do this you go to the disneyworld page. Click on the my disney vacation link. You need to be registered on the disney site, so you will need to log on. Then there wil be a link to do the online check in, if you are within 10 days of check in. There is a place to enter a credit card, and I am not sure if it is required, I entered one so don't know what would have happened if I tried to do it without using a credit card.

I'm curious about this new system too. Does checking in early online help your chances of getting your room requests? Does anyone know if a credit card is required?

Just returned on 4/13 from a week at WDW (Easter week). We did the online check in before we left and WOW I was glad we did. When we arrived on Monday 4/6 the line at POR was at least 30+ families long. The seperate online check in line had ZERO wait with 3 CM working at windows. We walked right up - gave the the form you print when you online check in and off we were to our room in 5 or less minutes. We do not use a credit card linked to our room key so we did not add that at the online check in website but we could if we wanted to.

GREAT SERVICE!!!!

A credit card is NOT required. We used it last week and we did not link our CC.

We are using a TA so should I use online check in or will that not be necessary? I'm curious though why more people don't use online check in? Is it something they just don't know about? Sorry but lotsa questions here. We are going to FW cabins in September.

I'm so glad to have found out about this. Is this a new process so not many people know about it? I'm thrilled to know I can do it without using my credit card, too. :thumbsup2

I booked my March trip through Small World Vacations and did online checkin without any problem. They sent me the reservation number to be able to do it. Everyone is right, the line is much shorter for people who checkin online and you don't have to wait for them to get everything ready. The keys and everything are all ready to go in a packet. The only problem I had was that I had two rooms and I did online checkin for both, but the second room packet had not been prepared. They quickly got it ready though. I would highly recommend it even with the minor problem I had.

do you think checking in from home like that would increase my chances of getting my room requests? we wont be arriving at CBR until 11pm on a friday night. and with CBR being such a big resort i need all the help i can get in not getting stuck in a far away room! :rotfl:

I doubt that it will help get a room request. The best thing is make sure that it is on the reservation, follow up with a fax to the room assigner and pray for the best. Arriving that late, I don't think that checking in online or at the desk will make much of a difference in getting your request.

Mostly correct- this does not change much about your room requests. However, many WDW resorts no longer accept room requests in the form of faxes, so they will never make it. It's still better to call it in.

We also used a TA (AAA). She did the online check in for us and we picked up everything from her.

Have a great trip

If you use online check-in, can you still have your park tickets linked to your KTTW card if you purchased your tickets separately?

This was a great thing to find out about. I never would have thought to ask about online check in. You guys are the BEST!!!:yay: :woohoo:

were your two rooms connecting? I have two rooms booked at Pop in September. My only request was for the rooms to be connecting if possible. I would love to do online check in and save myself the (possibly) long wait when we arrive, but I wonder if my connecting room request might be an issue with the online check in. If we can't get connecting rooms (I know they are not guaranteed) I would at least like them to be as close to each other as possible. My DD19 will be in the other room. Anyone know?

I'm try to do this now - and having trouble with the site. It freezes up everytime I try to enter my info (address, etc..) and press submit after I "agree to the terms".... I have my travel agent trying now, so we'll see. Maybe it's just my computer, but I've heard lots of reports of the site freezing up. It sounds like aside from this, it's a great system and saves lots of time! I'll update when we return (leaving in 7 days!!!)
