We're not flying back to our home through the Disney flight program so we'll have to check in to our flight on our own. My question though is since, we'll be at sea what happens when we check in late, such as in the morning on the day of the flight? I know this sounds like a silly question but we're always one to check in as soon as the check in window opens so I don't know what happens when we check in late. We're flying Alaska Air and we already have assigned seating so is there anything that we would need to worry about from checking in late? The flight isn't til later in the evening when we arrived back at port and it's a direct flight home.

I can't answer your question directly but this is always what I use my free 50mb of internet for. I sign up on the first day and hardly use it - then 24 hrs before my flight I go online and check in. Print boarding passes at the airport and you're good to go!

Hope this helps!

Unless you're on Southwest (and I guess any other weird airline who thinks it's too much trouble to let you select a seat ahead - if there are any others) does it really matter? I know lots of people who check in at the airport.

If you ARE on Southwest, this is a time it's worth paying for Early Bird check-in. Because shippernet (internet at sea) is anything but reliable.

As long as you are able to pick your seats the ahead of time it never matters when you check in.

As long as you have checked in about 45 minutes prior to your flight, you're all good. That is for a domestic flight.

An International flight, requires a check in 60 minutes prior to your flight.

When at home I always check in online, the day before. In a situation like this when we are on a cruise, or even last week we were in DL at a hotel without a business center, we just checked in when we got to the airport.

Ok. Good to know and thanks for the info. Our return flight isn't til late in the afternoon after we disembark so we'll have plenty of time to get from port to the airport. I guess we'll just check in when we get there or I'll just check in from my phone in the morning when we get back to port.
