Do they allow guests to check in early at the Polynesian? We will be arriving about 2-3 hours before the 3pm check in time, and I would like to get my 3 kids changed and into that awesome volcano pool.

I know that they allow guests to put their luggage aside and swim if they arrive early. But I don't relish the thought of trying to get my three kids (who will be on activity overdrive after the long flight) changed in the public bathroom. Any tips on an early check in?

Thanks! :earsgirl:

DH & I often check in early into the Disney resorts. Sometimes the room is ready and you can settle in early. Sometimes the room is not ready and they will store your luggage. They will give you a telephone number to call to check the status of your room. Meanwhile, you can go on with your day. As far as get the three kids ready for the pool, I can't help you there.

In the bottom of the volcano is the changing/bathrooms. Hardly anyone there in the early hours and even so, its not that big of problem. Stalls have doors most people have changed in their room for the pool and other than a quick bathroom stop, haven't seen more than 2 people in there when I used it! There are bathrooms in the main lobby and there used to be some bathrooms by Capt. Cooks, resort food court, but they were remodelling that area last trip. Either way I see no problem!

That's what I did. I got to the resort about 9am and of course my room wouldn't be ready by that time so I changed in the bathrooms under the Volcano pool after a nice breakfast at Kona. Got to have my Tonga Toast or it isn't a true Disney vacation for me! The bathroom is more than big enough and even has showers and a bench. We put all of our suits and and sandals in our family back pack so we could go swiming! It was perfect and we killed a couple of hours until our room was ready and people we were to meet up with, arrived. Our room was ready by noon. Time passes real quick when you're in that pool and lounging in the sun. They provide you plenty of towels and Captin Cooks is right by when you need a snack. Give it a try, it's a great way to start a vacation and kill some time. Good luck! pirate:
