Checking in at port.....

We are planning to rent a car, have DH drop me and the kids off at port while he takes the car back.

Will I be able to do our 'check in' and get our Keys to the World even if he is not there; or do you need all members of your party there before you can check in?

You should be able to get him checked in while he's away, but, they probably will not give you his KTTW card until they can verify him in person.....when we went in August, DW checked me in while I was running back and forth to the car to get things I kept forgetting.....if he's returning a rental, he'll need to be sure to have a picture ID so they can match his name to the manifest at the security station outside the port......Andy

On our last trip I dropped DW and DD and went to dump the rental car. When I returned, DW had finished checking in and had me walk with her to the counter of the lady who had checked her in. There were other people waiting to check in, but she saw my wife, said Hello, took a quick look at my id and handed over our KTTW card. Probably 10 whole seconds. I suspect experiences vary a little bit on this.
