Checking Airfare

Too often. We're going in February and I've been checking about every other day. The rates have been going all over the place. Allegiant, a newer option in the Lansing, MI area, hasn't posted its February rates. With NWA being our other only real option, it's tough to do anything. If they go into bankruptcy, I'm sure schedules/prices will change again. Prices are too high right now for our trip. Hoping they come down so I can book and stop this madness.

Every day and a good thing-tickets dropped $100 each from greensboro, NC to Orlando and I bit. This happened Saturday 8/27-I checked Friday and they were $220 and then next day $118. I have watched these Delta flights for months-it's a non- stop flight and great times. We will go for a long weekend in October.

I checked first thing each morning (except Sunday) until I booked and now I check every few days to see if there is a cheaper price on SW.

I was looking for president's week, I looked 2 to 3 times a day, 4 or 5 search engines along with airlines own site. I finally couldn't take it anymore and booked in for $355 (PVD-TPA). The price has since gone up $30 in 3 weeks.

My advice, use something like http://www.itasoftware.com to start and work from there. Remember the airlines websites don't charge a handling fee like expedia or travelocity. When you find "the" price...grab it cause it will probably be gone tomorrow.

Thanks everyone. I'm only looking w/ 1 airline (We have a substantial credit to use before it expires), and they don't use other booking engines (Jetblue). I've been checking every 2-3 days and I haven't seen many changes. I'm going to keep watch a bit longer.

kile when are you going?? I am going down on jet blue also {the only airline I will use} I booked for 89.00 one way, it has gone up to 119.00 in the matter of three days. I hope you find a good fare. I will be going Feb.14-21. Good Luck :grouphug:

We are going in mid to late January. I've been watching the last 2 weeks and it's been come down every 2-3 days considerably. It was at over $300 each way. Now it's down to $99. I need the $89 or less rate to use only my credit and not any out of pocket cash. I really don't want to get another credit w/ them by getting a lower rate either. I have had such a nightmare w/ them and this credit that after this I don't know if I'll use them again. Which is sad because they were 1 of our top 2 choices when we fly.

I will wait a bit longer if not by then I'll be able to just pay the extra cash. Unfortunately the water/sewer usage bill and homeowners is due the early part of this month-- so no extra money for a few weeks.
