What are the airline regulations for packing soaps, shampoo's,etc....in your checked baggage? I know it can't be bigger that 3oz's for carry on's, but wasn't sure about checked baggage.

Thanks,

Jeff

To clarify
  • the airlines do not set the guidelines; the various security agencies/administrations do. For USA it is TSA, for Canada CATSA
  • the carry on limit is 100ml per item, which is 3.4 oz, not 3 oz. Many travel size items are 100ml, which is 3.4 oz, and which is permitted under the current carry on guidelines, so long as they are carried a 1 litre bag
  • there are no restrictions on liquids in checked baggage. There are however restrictions on hazardous material, so some liquids are not allowed. However most travellers do not plan to carry those.

I suggest visiting the applicable site for your country - www.tsa.gov or www.catsa.ca or other.

Well, you have to remember that there are a lot of people, especially those headed to WDW, that are packing wine or other liquid refreshments in their checked bags. Doesn't matter if it's in the checked bag, but it does make the bag heavier. And that's something you have to watch. You don't want to go over the weight limits. But if you're talking about normal size bottles of shampoo and such you should be fine.
