Check your state's unclaimed property!

I just found one for my deceased husband for $100. I'll take it! I'll look into it tonight I guess when I get home.

Woohoo! :dance3: I'm so glad this tip was useful. I know what you mean about the proof though, I now have to find something to prove an address from 10+ years ago...

I have 4 unclaimed things that I filled out the form for. Two of the items were under 50 cents LOL but the other two were for $5-25...so who knows what it is or if I even get it mailed to me. If I get it, yay!:cool1:

Thanks for the tip!:thumbsup2

I have 2 separate things listed, but both say between $1-50 and both are from Upromise. I looked it up and it's a college savings plan?!? I've never used anything like this, but I'll take whatever they're trying to pay me!!

Mine was from Intuit with no $ figure mentioned. My father's was from a company I never heard of - no $ amount listed.. but they, too, want proof of address and this was over 6 years ago when he was living with my Grandmother... I don't know how we will be able to claim it, but my sister is going to try as she was the executor of his estate.

Question: My grandmother's name is listed for uncashed checks for over $100. She passed away five years ago. Is there a way that my dad can claim this?

Never mind. I just saw that there is a place for an heir.
Thanks for pointing this out. I never would have thought to check for this type if thing.

Nice tip. Didn't find anything of my own but had fun looking up family members. Some of them have $ so we will tell them to check it out.

Thanks for the reminder! I used to check this regularly, but hadn't in a while. I found one for myself (only $10), one for my brother, and 8 for my parents with 5 of them over $100!
