I have been periodically checking our fare since we booked early last month. Today it had dropped on Southwest from LR to MCO. The change in fare has given me a $160 credit toward future travel.
I was checking today too, and noticed the fare for the day before my scheduled departure had dropped from $79 to $59. My scheduled departure was 12/20 and the fare was $133! With three of us going....I made the change today...going a day early, taking a $222 credit which we'll use on a future trip. We'll more than break even, especially if we just get an inexpensive offsite room the first night. And now I won't be nervous about a weather delay at this end messing up our MVMCP on the night of the 20th
Me too! Got on SWA site at 6:30 this AM to discover our flight down to MCO had FINALLY opened up for $49! Now have a $60 credit to use for our January trip!
I was fully expecting our fare to increase due to all the Hurricane Katrina stuff, but ours went down $10 a person so I got the credit. It is only $20, but every little bit helps!
Not on Southwest. You can always make changes with them and there is no cost to change. If you are making a total change, then you may have to pay the difference for a higher fare, but the don't charge those "change fees" that other airlines charge.
