You guys are going to get a real chuckle from this one. :rotfl2:

I have a 310 point BCV contract.
99 pts banked from 2008 into 2009 giving me 409 pts in 2009.

I made a reservation a few months back for a stay at BCV, June 2009, 12 nights, 2 bedroom = 550 pts. Very excited, can’t wait :goodvibes (sorry, getting off topic).

Instead of borrowing points from 2010, we have another BCV contract that I moved 141 pts from.

So, all said and done – should have 0 pts left in 2009. Great (I never confirmed this). :rolleyes1

This morning called to make reservations for friends (Sept 2009 reservation). 133 pts
Expected to be borrowing points from 2010, (310-133) leaving us with 177 points remaining in 2010 use year. I asked to confirm my remaining balance. “Sir, you have 177 points left in 2009 use year.” My response “You mean 2010 use year”. “No, 2009”

Ok, that doesn’t make sense to me. I hang up and double check my spreadsheet and math. Nope, they are wrong.

What do I do? :confused3

Before you guys answer… I just got off the phone with DVC (on the line for over an hour). I think I had the whole office laughing… this idiot on the phone is arguing we have given him too many points!

Finally the second supervisor figures it out, some how when they transferred in the points from my other contract it gave me an extra allotment of use year points, 310 points to be exact.

So, never assume they are right and you are wrong. Computers do mess up sometimes. Always check your point balances after each reservation! :thumbsup2

I am glad I called and also kicking myself at the same time!

Never really thought to much about karma, but if there is such a thing… I think I have some coming back to me.

Happy Holidays :santa:

Perhaps for doing the right thing you will be repaid ten fold! Oh, but what I wouldn't give for extra points!

Have a great holiday season!

I had an experience about a year ago. I was calling day by day for an October 2008 stay at BWV. Everything was going well until the last day. The cm on the phone seemed confused and when I asked her about my point totals, they were not right. She said something about the system hasn't updated yet.:confused3 So I went online to check and somehow she had returned all the 2008 points I had used for the entire 6 night reservation and borrowed 2009! I tried to call back but there was a long wait time (it was a Saturday). So I sent them an e-mail. It took a few dates but they back out my reservation and returned the points and then redid it correctly. I ended up with a new confirmation #. Good thing I caught it, I would have had a bunch of points left in 2008 and most of 2009 gone!

Be really careful if you have several contracts.

I had a change because a waitlist that came through. When they booked the new confirmation they took it all out of one contract (banked and CY), even though the original reservation had used points for four contracts that were banked from the prior year.

:rotfl2: Did you ever see the Frasier episode where his dad kept trying to give the bank back the money that was erroneously put into his account and they kept giving him more money because they thought he was complaining? That's probably why it took so long - they probably couldn't wrap their heads around what you were getting at ;)

It definitely will! My DH and I found that we had been erroneously credited for some items we bought at two different stores - paid for the items, received them, but for some reason got a refund (2 different vendors within two weeks of each other for different reasons - very strange). We called and had it corrected and the people we spoke to were surprised that we called and both expressed their gratitude. We ended up having a couple of really nice things happen to us after that and, while it isn't why we did it (we had the goods so we figured we should pay for them - we're not thieves), it felt good and just reinforced for us that when you stick to your own moral code, good things are bound to happen. So good for you!

I am in the habit of asking for a review of my account after every transaction. The CM gives me their version of the points - current, banked, borrowed, holding, etc. It is so much easier to correct an error right after it happens than days, weeks or months later.

Glad everything worked out for those who posted their experiences.

Sending loads of KARMA to the rward! :teeth:

I called to bank 2008 points. CM said you have 145 points, well no I shouldn't. CM said well I can't tell you why but you have 2 contracts with these many points, and I can not explain what has happened but that is what you own. No I don't. Called my guide he wasn't in. Called back got a different CM, explained it again. She looked into it, it took over an hour. Oops they had put in to many points, thanks for your honestly we would have eventually caught it. Hmmmmmmmmmmm

This past summer 776 points were taken out of our 2009 contracts that shouldn't have been. One day i checked online we had 995 points in 2009, the next day we had 219. MS couldn't figure out what had happened it took many calls and climbing the management ladder till we finally got someone that would restore the points to our accounts. I have always stayed on top of my points accounts checking totals usually once a month. Thank goodness that was the case I would have been very unhappy if I had waited until I needed to make a reservation and then found out I couldn't because they couldn't locate my points.:confused3

Multiple memberships and multiple contracts really throws the Advisers and MS computers for a loop. Our points are incorrect every time we make a reservation. Usually they don't know why, but sometimes they can see the error other times they have no idea what happened. I always verify our totals before and after we make a reservation.

Last week I was told by a Manager that the Advisor had read me the point totals from the wrong screen. Their IT Partner is still investigating what happened to 100 banked points and for the last three months we can only see one of our memberships online.

Management acknowledges that they have some major problems and that they are working on them. I get a sense that they are as frustrated with the system as we are.
