I was checking my National reservations when I noticed they jumped up in price about $30 for a 10 day renatl
in November.

I sent and email explaining my original quote (yada yada yada)

The did make the correction and faxed me back a new reservations sheet.

What the did mention in their email was:

Uortunately, we had a problem with our reservation system as
far as the discount amount is concern and our website will not show the
correct rate

Just though you should know

yes this has been posted several times. thought they would have fixed it by now. whenever you make a ressie with them its best to print it out and keep that copy. if you go to check it afterwards it will show higher.

Well - it's definately not fixed as of this week. I noticed that my price had jumped up and I emailed Customer Service. I got one email back in about a 1/2 hour that said my original quote would be honored....and then I got a second email about 30 seconds later from a different Customer Service person that said that if my rate had changed it must have been my fault and I must have made some kind of change on the dates or car type (I hadn't) and I would have to live with it. :(

Needless to say - I printed out that first email and stuck it with my printed out reservation. I hope I don't have any problems.

If you want to see if rates have gone up or down do it by getting a NEW quote! Do not go in to your current reservation to check on it. It will go up! I learned that the hard way way back in February!

Repeat: DO NOT TOUCH your current reservation when checking rates, make a new quote to see if rates have gone down.:D

That's very good advice. Thanks! I must admit I'm getting a little nervous about National and what my rate is going to be. My husband wants to go back to the towncar -- he likes letting someone else do the driving.

However in this case I wasn't checking rates -- I just viewed the reservation.

Toby'sfriend,
Don't even do that. It, for whatever reason, bumps your rate up. If you want to check a ressie, please, make the phone call.
My rate remained the same (well up 3.00) as when I booked it, but, I only checked via the phone. I believe the reason it went up was because my dates changed. For a Bonneville at 116.(total) per week, I was not going to *itch about 3.00.
