Check your dollar rental rates!....AGAIN!!

Just thought i would check my price at dollar that i just made last week, and i used the code from mousesavers-mag- and the price went down for a 10 days rental by $9.00. I know its not a lot, but better than nothing!! I cancelled my res and rebooked it again.

I think I had a good rate on an 8 day rental of a full size car w/Dollar $268 after all the taxes etc. using the BJ code/coupons.

I just checked the rates again using no codes and just changed my reservation...the rate using no codes was $230 for 8 days!

That's pretty good right?

In regards to my last posting...forget it! I just did the reservation using the MAG code (all taxes etc.) and my rate for the 8 days is now down to $209 for 8 days full size rental...now that's good right?

I got a Full size car for 10 days using MAG for $209, 9/11-9/21.

UPDATE!!! I checked them again today and just saved even more money. Make sure to check your rates again.

What am I doing wrong? I checked again tonight and I have a compact reserved for 11 days, 10/8-10/19 @ $220.36 w/out taxes, $261.97 with. Any suggestions on getting a better deal or at least an upgrade?

now what to do with all that extra money??lol

I just ran your numbers this morning and it's showing at $254 for that time period for a full size and $248 for the compact..... that's just putting in your dates and adding the MAG code for the extra 10% discount.... the discount shows up when you hit the reserve button. Hope that helps!

Thanks guys, just got 12 days, 10/27 - 11/08 for a 2 week rate of $272!! Best rate so far by about $50!
Just a quick question, if I signed up for Fastlane after I made ressies, when I get my Fastlane ID, should I rebook with the ID or just call and try to add it that way?

WOW Disneyfun1!! Thank you so very much.....I had originally started out with a rental at National $178 for a full sized (I've been a regular with them for a long time) but gave Dollar a try a few months ago.

My original with Dollar was for 7 days for a full sized and it was about $162 and when I rechecked yesterday (thanks to you!!) it went down to $141.00....hey thats twenty bucks...that could be a good snack at Disney for 4 of us!

I originally booked with Dollar for an intermediate size car for a rate of 139.99 plus taxes. I used a code found on mousesavers.com. I thought I was getting a bargain.

Later that day, I checked prices for a full size vehicle WITHOUT using a code. That price was only 112.99 plus taxes.

Needless to say, I cancelled my original reservation and went with the bigger car for less money!

This is for a one week period from 8/28/04 thru 9/4/04.

A friend of mine booked a minivan for a week earlier in the month thru Dollar's 1-800 number. They quoted a rate of 349.00 plus taxes for a one week period.

Today we went on line and booked a minivan for 199.00 plus tax.
This was using one of the codes found on mousesavers.com.

So mousesavers is right...sometimes you can do better using a code, sometimes not. It pays to explore all avenues!

I have a rate from dollar for a compact car for one week 8/19-8/26 for $119.00 (159.10 with all the darn other fees). I used the VFGET code that I got off these boards....great rate I think. Does anyone think I could do better anywhere else?

Thanks. It seems like the price changes daily. I'm going to keep checking it and reserving the lowest price each time.

I used the BJ's code (to be honest, I don't remember what it is, I went to bjs.com and found it there. $20.00 off a weeks rental.

I am a BJ's member, but did not need the # to access the site, and have never been asked to display my card at the time of rental.

I made an online ressie with Dollar today. I was quoted a rate of $114.95 for a compact for next week. I used code VFGET and it took $20 off the price of the regular rate. It was the best rate I found for Dollar and I tried all the codes from www.mousesavers.com
