Anyone get the e-mail from Chase yesterday saying that their system had been compromised but not to worry because every thing was just peachy keen?

Well we got it and today we got a phone message to please call them regarding some questionable charges. Sure enough someone in Europe went on a shoe shopping spree with our card information.

I have to admit that they took care of everything but it's a real pain in the butt to have our card canceled and now we have to wait for the card to arrive for our new account. We put everything on that card (and pay it off each month) and we're leaving for vacation in 4 days! Thank goodness it didn't happen while we were out of state.

And now I'm worried because we had almost 400 rewards dollars and I was in such a panic I didn't think to ask about them before they cancelled the card.
If we lose those I will be done with Chase.

Thanks for letting me vent and be sure and check your account!

I'll have to check ours! YIKES!

I'm sure they won't take your Reward Dollars - if they do I think you'll see a good number of people following you!

My Disney Visa was compromised a few years ago. Like you, they caught it quickly and called me about it. I did have to submit a form that said I didn't authorize those charges. I also was issued a new card.

I did NOT lose my reward dollars. The only thing that changed was the account number on the card. I still used the same information to log in to my online account also.

You can call the number on the back of your card just to double check, but you should not lose your reward dollars.

The same thing happened to us yesterday. We got an e-mail from Chase and when I called sure enough our Disney visa had been compromised. Chase did reverse all the charges. Everyone check your visa accounts!!

I got that email too and just went in and checked my accounts and there was nothing suspicious on them....just all MY charges! :confused3

Got the email and guess what.... someone went to disney world and made $1000 in charges last week.......oh wait, that was me. Shoot.

This is the email Chase sent me yesterday (9/19):

We recently experienced a service interruption that affected the chase.com website and mobile services, and we apologize if this created any difficulties for you. We have resolved the problem, and want to assure you that your account information was not compromised as a result of this outage.

We know that our customers rely upon the 24 hour access to their account information provided by Chase.com. This was not the level of service we know you expect, and we will work hard to better serve and communicate with you.

Your accounts and confidential information remain secure and we want to remind you that Chase will never ask for your personal information or login credentials via email.

Please accept our apology for any inconvenience this may have caused. We’re continuing to work hard to maintain your trust and confidence.

We’re always here to assist you.

Interesting how we got very different emails!

This is the same one that I got too. I need to take a look at my acct. I do have alerts set up for big charges etc, but I better check.

That's the email I got. It didn't say anything about the servers being compromised, just that they went down.

If some one really needs my 2 cents... then I guess I can depart with it.

I got the same email this weekend...our account looks fine - from the email it didn't seem that our accounts had been compromised and only the system had gone down for a while. Glad I saw this here and knew to check...thanks.

Too bad you can't get the rewards off the bad charges....

Good luck to everyone!

How did you set up those alerts, can you do it online or did you have to call? That is a very good idea!

I got an e-mail too, but just saying the servers went down & apologizing for the inconvenience. Just checked my accounts & nothing fishy. Thanks for the heads up!!

I had actually been called about a week and a half ago about some charges that were showing up on my Chase TJX card- apparently there were some match.com charges made:lmao: I said they weren't mine, and that I've had my card in my possession at all times and they were reversing the charges, canceling the account and issuing me a new card. They have done all that, and I was sent an affidavit to sign saying the charges weren't mine etc. Then, I got the email about chase.com being down too. Anyway, the charges never showed in my account when I checked online or on my statement.
Luckily no problems with my more important Chase account, my Disney visa!

I'm sure your stolen info had nothing to do with the outage. The timing was just a coincidence. The system outage was due hardware/software upgrade issues, not anyone hacking in.

Your reward information should carry over - as should your credit history. If it doesn't for some reason, just call them. I've been through this one a couple of times now, it's not a big deal.

ARE YOU SURE IT WAS YOU......;).................:scratchin:,:rolleyes1

Someone got our card number about a month ago (and actually made a card). Chase called with a bunch of charges in North Brunswick, NJ, North Bergen, Fort Lee... none of which was ours. They took care of the charges and sent a new card overnight. I didn't lose any reward dollars. They signed me up for fraud alerts. If anything is questonable they will send me a text.
