I have a GM credit card that I use quite often. I thought that I just earned money towards a new vehicle. We will probably never buy new so I didn't think much of it. Then today, I was going through some paperwork and noticed that I can opt for a cash reward instead! Just checked online, and sure enough, I have $139! I can only cash out for $100 at a time but that $100 is found money for me! I'm going to check out all of my other cards now.

I have a Discover card that I haven't used in a long time (no balance) and when I checked my account online I 'discovered' (HA!) that I have 4,125 reward miles. I thought they could only be redeemed for travel-related items but I have different redemption options. For 4,000 miles I can get a $25 gift card from various retailers, restaurants, gas stations, etc. Now I just need to decide on which one to choose!

ETA: I went with a $25 Bath & Body Works gift certificate. Gotta love free bubble bath!

Just today I cashed out 7K Chase points for a $25 Gas Gard, $10 Dunkin Donuts and a $25 Hertz card. I will use all on our upcoming trip to WDW/DCL
next month

I already have a $25 gas card and a $5 Starbucks from another account that I am saving for the trip also. It is so nice to stop in the airport and grab a Sbucks!

Will definitely help the budget.

Just last week I cashed in on my USAA rewards - $100 GC for LOWES and $100 for Carraba's resturant. Those will be nice to use.

My AmEx does an annual cash reward payment and we are around $500 and expect in 3 more months to be close to $700 - that will be nice to see a $700 credit on my AmEx...

I love using CC for their rewards and their convenience

We got 80 Disney Dream Dollars on our last Disney Visa statement... I can't wait to cash those suckers out for our trip!!

Last month, I cashed out DH's Chase Freedom card for the $250 check.

Thanks for the post. We have a GM card but only use it now for Sams Club since I use my Disney Visa for everything else. I just checked and cashed out $100. I always thought it could only be redeemed to buy a car also (we did use it once 8 years ago for a car).

OK, I just opened my GM card statement from this month. It tells me that I have a "New Earnings Total of $126.72) I would have had a lot more, but I just bought a 2009 Chevy Malibu in February (which I absolutely LOVE).

How do I find out what I can do with this $$$?

I don't have an on-line account, do I need to register someplace?

On my statement it states that there are "Bonus Shop Earnings", what are those?

Obviously, I don't read my statements too often (only compare my charges and my receipts).

Go to gmcard.com and there is a link in the top right to "manage your earnings".
