Check your flights, our June flights dropped to $80 OW and checked other flights around our dates 6/2-6/13, September, and fall break had also dropped.

I stated this on another thread that the barrell price of oil had peaked and prices would drop. We are nearing past the peak season for summer gas and expect the prices for oil to fall back into the $90-$95 frame. The only reason why airfares would rise from here on in will be based upon consumer demand.

It is very difficult to estimate what the price of crude oil will be next week, let alone three or more months from now. If the price of crude oil drops below $100/bbl, great. With turmoil in the Middle East, China securing future oil contracts in Brazil and many other oil exporting countries, and our own limited refinery capacity, the chances of gasoline prices going up in the United States are very likely.

This is late March, not June-August, and summer gasoline and jet fuel demand will be higher, that is a fact.

I got credit back for the difference in price I paid earlier and the drop today. However, it is a credit for a future ticket and expires within a year.

The prices in the middle east are already baked into the cake with the exception of there's any political unrest in Saudi Arabia. Even though it is end of March, a lot of the refining is pretty much done for the summer season. No different when in the fall a lot of the winter home heating is done before the winter season even starts. As for consumer demand to be higher...that remains to be seen.
