I saw this tip before our trip, and I am so glad that I did. On our last day in DL I stopped at a PhotoPass location to view our photos to make sure that all the enhancements were there.

One of our photos was missing!

We had done the Darth Vader pictures early in our trip and the one important one of my son was missing. If it had been me I wouldn't have cared a bit, and my daughter wouldn't have minded much, but to have my Star Wars fan son's picture missing was terrible.

The photographer had done something, because the other 2 Darth pictures also had another number referenced and when we looked there was about 40 different pictures in that group, so when she took the pictures she somehow didn't attach them to individual cards.

The CM looked and looked, but couldn't find our 3rd picture. We had a priority seating for Ariels Grotto so I had to leave, but she asked me to stop back on my way out to see if her supervisor could find anything.

I was so thrilled when we got back, they had managed to find the picture and add it back to our account. It had somehow been deleted (she said that sometimes photos that don't turn out are just deleted, but there wasn't anything wrong with ours) She didn't know why it wasn't just put in the "Super Lost" pictures, and I have no idea how they did it, but they were able to locate it.

I'm glad you had read the tip, and glad you did it, and glad they found it!!!!!!

From my experience with the photopass place, they make it a personal mission to find missing pictures. I had one CM who looked for a good half hour while I was standing there, then sent me away so she could look on her own, for a set of pix with my son and Santa in DCA, after the photographer's camera failed and then later did "make-up" pictures that disappeared into the ether.

I'll be there beginning on Sunday, so this is a great tip. Where is the photopass place located?

we were bummed we couldnt find half the photopass guys we were looking for

The one in Disneyland is the photo shop on the right on Main Street. I think the entrance is on a corner of the shops.

The one in DCA is part of Greetings from CA giftshop, closest to the entrance of DCA.

You can just go in and have them scan your card(s) so you can look at the pix on their computer.

Oh, and it's especially important to do if you're on a BIG trip for a big reason (first trip, only trip for a long time, family reunion with people you might not see again or for a long time, etc). Because you want to make sure the pix you got of the group, or the birthday kid, or etc, came out and came out well.

So if you're there on a reunion and you had a big pic taken in front of the castle, make sure it came out nicely so you know if you need to have it retaken. :)

I'm going to be fun when we get out to WDW, b/c it will be a big family reunion type of thing, and oh those family members will have to go along with me on the photopass thing. :upsidedow

Has anybody got photopass picture taken where the photographer asks you to wave you hands in the air like you're on a ride? If so, is there supposed to be an enhancement to the picture, because I sure didn't see anything different. All of our Tinks, Stitches and Minnies were there.

Yes, on several occasions we were asked to put our hands up as though we looked scared. Lo and behold, I went online to view my pictures a couple of days ago, and there are just a bunch of silly photos with us looking scared and no enhancement of any kind!!! Weird, huh?

As for the problem of some of the pictures not being there... now that I read all these posts, I realize it is a good idea to check all the pictures before we leave DLR next time - just in case any are missing. When I first viewed my photos - and this was about 7 days after returning home from DLR - I could have sworn that something was missing somewhere. Like maybe if the photographer took 4 photos in one 'session,' there were only three that made it to the PP card. I couldn't figure out exactly which ones were missing, but I had an idea and I know at least two (nothing important) didn't make it on.

I would get paranoid that the photographer would screw up somehow because at certain times, they would take my card and place it on top of a stack of cards they were holding until the photos had been taken. Then, someone would come up, interrupt them and ask them for a PP card while we were waiting to have our photo taken, and I was afraid they would accidentally hand the person our card. There were several moments where other people were either trying to get cards from them or hand them cards, or just distracting them in some way, and I feared our card would get lost in the shuffle! I was trying to watch their hands like a hawk!

On our last trip we did not have any missing pictures, but we did get a couple of pictures that were not ours :scared1: I recognized the people as they were right in front of us getting their picture taken by the Matterhorn right in front of us. I guess the photographer somehow loaded their picture on our card........ Yikes.

And I bet that happens to a lot of folks. When there are a bunch of people wandering about and it is busy, I can imagine that it gets very distracting for the photographer and they end up screwing up somewhere along the line. Your prized photo with Mickey or someone ends up on somebody else's card because all the cards look identical, and they lose track of whose photos they are scanning onto which card!

I've never tried Photo Pass but I know some have suggested writing your pass number down somewhere or taking a picture of the card with your own camera. I guess this is a good reason to do that since it seems like there could easily be confusion.

Yes, there can be some confusing times where they are not paying attention. It wouldn't be a bad idea to jot the number down right away and stash the paper in your pocket and check it against the card the PP person hands back to you, although I don't know how to stop them from accidentally putting some of your photos on another person's card because that is a mistake they make that I guess we cannot actually SEE them doing. It may not happen all the time, but I bet it happens more than I'd like to think about!!!

Oh, and I just remembered that I read another PP tip about putting some sort of sticker on the card or writing your name really big so that your card is easy to spot in a pile of cards being handed back. It sounds like the CMs are able to locate lost photos so if you check it at the park and see the wrong photos on the card maybe they can correct it while you're there. Does sound like it can get hectic easily.

I always write my name on the back side of my PP card in black sharpie marker. Easy to spot and makes it even easier to make sure I've gotten the right card back.

I also have the photog take at least 1 pix with my camera also. It came in handy last November when one of my Pooh pix didn't show up on my PP account. I had a photo that was taken with my camera and made it easier for the 'lost' department to locate my missing photo along with an explanation as to what time we were there and what exactly we were wearing.

Good thinking! I think I will try that next time. As I said, I know at least 2 photos were missing from my card, but they were not that important, and I couldn't call Disney and describe which ones I was missing well enough to make a big deal about it. Having them take a shot or two with my camera is a good idea.

Bumping this thread for help. :) We have some pictures missing from our photopass card from our recent trip, :) so who do I call? (We are at home now). Thanks!

There's a contact form on the website, you best try that.

It asks for exact details which photos are missing, time and place etc.

Worked for me, pictures were added in a little more than a day.

Great! That's exactly the info. that I needed. Thank you so much! :)

I always write my PP# down someplace in case I lose it, and I always write my name ON the card with a sharpi.

Best advice - remember the name of the photographer and the approximate time that you had really important shots taken. As I said in another thread, they know who their photogs are and which camera and memory cards are assigned to them for that location and day.

That helped us retrieve critical "First Santa photos" and family portraits from our Anniversary at GCH last year.
