check out this AC Moore ornament project

Oh my GOSH, those are GREAT! I'll be checking out the after Christmas sales for some glass ornaments to decorate!! (I'm thinking I'll be lazy and buy some colored glass ornaments and skip the step of coloring the inside of the ball!)...................P

Those are so pretty! I wish I had more time before Christmas...

I just came to post this! I wish I would have seen it sooner, but will certainly make it a projectfor next year.

They are so cute. Thanks for posting the link. :)

thanks for posting the directions to this project, I'll be getting some of these ornaments on marked down after the holidays and make some for next year...... :sunny: :cool1:

Those are just beautiful! Thanks for sharing. I've printed out the directions and hopefully dd & I can make some this year; if not, definitely next year.

Do you think a kindergarten class can handle this if I do the inside of the ornaments ahead of time? Please feel free to be completely honest! :goodvibes

Thanks so much for posting this! :) We bought some clear ornaments at AC Moore yesterday. DH & I went out last night (to see Narnia) and the kids (DD6 & DS11) did some of these with their 13yo babysitter. They are quite easy and come out real nice.

As far as doing them with young children, it would be good if you had LOTS of assistance as you would need to sit with each child as they did theirs so the paint didn't end up all over. You also need drying time (when the ornament sits on the paper cup for the excess paint to drip out) so it would be a good craft to do first and then have the kids go back to do the stickers once the pain dries. Would also be good as a two-day project. Just remember that they are made of glass.

These are so cute. I think the class could do them if the colour was already done. I would use stickers instead of rub-ons because those sticky little devils can be tricky. What a great lasting take-home craft for a class!

For younger kids, just modify the project. Either paint them ahead of time yourself or eliminate the step altogether. I remember seeing a post (probably here) last year that used the same type of bulbs but put rolled paper pieces inside and the rub ons outside. I think it was a Mickey w/ red/black/yellow paper inside.
