I am renting points and considering buying into DVC - after a stay do you have to go through a check-out process or can you just leave (assuming you don't have incidentals)?

If you gave them a credit card at check-in and you don't have any issues with the statement of rooms charges that they leave you the night before, you don't have to return to the front desk to check-out.

I always go down to check out - even if there are no charges just so they can notify housekeeping so they can begin cleaning for the next guest.

I am always excited when my room is ready early and I hope this gives the next person that little smile!!! Oh how I love the magic..............can you tell we just got back and I'm still dreaming of "home"!!!!

You can call housekeeping and let them know, I wouldn't go to the front desk. My experience is housekeeping is ready to "pounce" in the morning. If you don't have your "do not disturb" sign out (if you have one), they usually start knocking 8:30-9:00.

We just call Housekeeping right before we leave.

We have not experienced housekeepers knocking before we leave (I know others have, though) and we do not use the "Do not Distrurb" hanger.
