Check my Loop Logic...

OK, so I pouring over the map and the updated loop list with my fistful of multicolored highlighters...and I want to check and see if you all agree with my logic and if this will work.

We're going down to the Fort for Thanksgiving, arriving on Sunday the 23rd. We have a pop-up and have reserved a partial site. My parents are driving up from Ft. Myers on Wednesday the 26th with their class A and, most likely, their dog. It looks like our best bet to be near one another would be for us to request loop 1500 and them to request loop 1600. I believe they've been on 1600 a couple of times before when they bring my 4-legged "little brother", and I know they've been happy with that location. Otherwise if we're on loop 2000, I'm thinking they'll want to upgrade and request loop 900.

What are the general thoughts on these locations? We have our DS, 4.5 and we'd like to be near a playscape...but that's certainly not a make or break thing either.

Also, what are our chances requesting these locations? and when should we request them? Should we note our reservation #s on each others ressies?

TIA!

I would go with the 1500 & 1600 loops.
Call ASAP and both request your desired loop and tell them the reason for picking these loops.

That is a great time of year to be at The Fort.

Great, thanks! Stupid question...I call CRO, right? The Fort won't get our actual ressies until a few days before arrival, correct?

Yep, call CRO. Then about 5 days before arrival, follow-up with a fax directly to Ft. Wilderness.

I agree and there are probably 10 sites where the 1500 and 1600 sites back to one another and are less than 20ft apart at the rear. The 1600 sites that back to the 1500 are the ones on the outside of the loop in the middle between the CS and the canal. These are our favorite sites.

Awesome, thanks Larry! I just called and our loop requests are now noted on our respective reservations. So, I'm assuming that getting as specific as asking for sites that back to one another would be best done with the fax to Ft. Wilderness at 5 days out as carol suggested...correct? Anyone have the fax # handy?

We always just ask for the back outside of the 1600 loop, but unfortunately you will be there first and the 1600 loop is more popular or booked. Ideally both of you could show up at the same time and once your folks get there 1600 site if the one backing it or at least to either side is empty even if you're not able to get that site on check in a quick trip to see if you can get that site might work. The 1500 loop sites are all about the same, but depending on the type and length of rig some of the 1600 sites are more challenging than others, especially on the inside sites of the loop.

These are old pics and a lot of vegetation is gone but ...

Here is site 1635 backing to the 1500 loop:

Here is site 1626 backing to the 1500 loop and you can see the blue tent in the rear which is in the 1500 loop:

This is a pic of me doing my famous or infamous "fruit fishing" at the back of one of the 1600 outside sites in 2005 that back to the 1500 loop and you can see the 1500 sites:

Thanks for the awesome pics, Larry! That really helps me get the perspective. Unfortunately my parents both have to work earlier in the week, so we'll be there a few days before them - so we'll be checking in to 1500 first. Eh, even if we aren't on adjoining sites, just being in next-door loops would be better than being clear across the Fort from one another...and we're all bringing our bikes...so that really wouldn't be the end of the world either...we'll be at the Fort after all!!!
