:( We will be arriving at the WL at about 11:00am. Check in is supposedly not until 3pm. What are the chances we will be able to get to our room??

Since we will be flying at 5:30 am, I would like to freshen up and have a room to go to...

So what have been your experiences and how do you handle it?? Any suggestions???? :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

We have been visiting Disney World at least 2x a year for the past 10 years and only 2 or 3 times has our room not been ready. Now we are traveling with our young son who needs a nap when we arrive to wind down from the trip. To ensure that we would have a room ready when we arrived, which is always between 9 and 10 am, I send a fax to the hotel a few days prior to our arrival requesting that a room be set aside for us so it is available when we arrive. I explain our reason for needing the room and have been successful our last two trips.

In the off season, it is usually no problem getting into your room when you check in, although we stayed at the WL in the off season in 2000, and we still couldn't get into the room until 3 pm. Since you are going in the middle of the summer, however, the chances of you getting in at 11 am greatly decrease. Just precheck in, get your resort pass, and the phone number, and periodically check back with the front desk, via phone to see if your room is available. It is no problem at all to precheck your luggage, and when you arrive at 3 pm, then have the valet bring it up. You should be able to get into your room, at the latest, 3:30, which should give you plenty of time to freshen up before dinner.

Pack your swim suits in a separate bag, change into them after you check in and go for a swim. Have a nice lunch/snack, rent a pontoon boat or other boat and go for a float on the lake. Or head over to the MK. When you can finally check in, you will already have started your vacation.
