For those of you who use online check-in, how do you answer the question about arrival time: 1) your actual arrival time or 2) the check-in time of the resort (ie. 4pm)? Does it make any difference in your room being available early or on-time?

I always use 90 minutes after my flight lands and no I don’t think that it has any effect on when my room is ready.

I give them my estimated time of arrival and hope for the best. I don't know that it makes a difference either. This past year I said 12 noon, our room wasn't ready until well past 4PM.

I think it allows for them to generate a text that your room is not quite ready for those that arrive early.

I always put the time close to when I land. But as mentioned, it didn’t make a difference.

Because rooms are assigned 3-5 days out, but they can't know which units are going to vacate at 8AM vs. 11AM on the dot, I really don't think check-in time has any impact on room available time.

I usually put in my real arrival time. I usually get a text shortly after my arrival that says the room isn't ready yet.

I'm with all the previous posters, announced arrival time probably doesn't matter. I live in Socal and on our last trip to VGC, we got there a little after 7am and checked in. Room ready text was around 4:15pm for a 1-BR villa. I am willing to bet that studios have a better shot at pre-4pm and 1-BR+ is guaranteed to be after 4pm.

Thanks everyone! This is pretty much what I figured. We have an upcoming split stay 1 night/6 nights, and was trying to figure out what time to use as check-in time for both stays.

On split stay days, I always list 11 am as arrival so they know that I’m around . But I always choose first available when I do online check in
