Check In Surprise?

I just need a bit of an insight on something we're hoping to do during our check in!

This is the first time we'll be traveling with children, and we decided to buy them some small Tink gifts. We have one to give each day, those are easy to do in room, but we also have a gift bag to start off the week.

Originally we were just gonna give it to them once they got the resort (we're getting there two days before the rest of the group) and we would have said Tink dropped it off with us, but now, two of the kids will be joining us one the night before the rest of the group does (we booked them in our room for our two pre nights in case they wanted to) while the rest of the family, including the youngest child, will stay off property for that first night before joining us at the Sports the next morning.

So, with all that being said - does anyone know if it's possible to hand over the gift bag, with a tag that has the name on the reservation/reservation number written on it, to CMs so they can keep it behind the check in desk, and then bring it out once we check in? Maybe have a note put on file to that effect? Or should we just figure out a different way to proceed?

Any input from anyone with experience in these matters would be appreciated

I don't think the desk will do that for you.

You could take the kids out after you get to the room and then someone runs back to display the gift, to be found upon return. Perhaps you left your camera on the bed and need to go back for it......wink, wink

When my daughter had her wedding at Disney several years ago we made up welcome bags for our guests and left them at the front desks of several different resorts where they were staying. We marked them with the names of the guests and I think we had the reservation numbers. All of the resorts were very nice about doing it and all of the guests received their bags.

That sounds like a good back up plan We will be back to the resort fairly early that night, so it's not like everyone should be collapsing on top of the bag out of exhaustion by accident!

We marked them with the names of the guests and I think we had the reservation numbers. All of the resorts were very nice about doing it and all of the guests received their bags.

Oooh thanks for the info! I'll definitely check once we get there Maybe it's a service they offer primarily for weddings, but it definitely won't hurt to ask. Thanks for sharing!

I have given the front desk gift baskets to deliver to our room. They will do it if you put the room number and you are nice.

This is a great idea, I'm going to have to remember this for when we take our daughter in 2 years.

The front desk at POFQ did something very similar for us in February, 2015.

We were checking out the same day my parents were checking in, but were going to be gone on Magical Express before they arrived. We had planned our vacations separately and only realized after the fact that we would just miss each other!

Because we couldn't be there to greet them, I wanted to surprise them at check-in with a gift. In one of the shops, we found a gift basket filled with goodies like Rice Krispy treats and cookies. We took it to the front desks and told them the situation. They said, Sure, they could hold it for them! We did not know their room number or reservation number. However, the front desk CM located them on her computer, marked the basket with their names and made a notation on their reservation record (Or something like that, typing was involved!) that they had a package to pick up at check-in.

That evening I got a call from Mom letting us know they made it OK, and loved the basket. So it worked for us!

Perfect, thank you for letting me know! I do have the reservation numbers so hopefully that'll make it easier, and then we can just drop by the night before they check in to see if they're able to hold it for us I hope it'll work out! Thanks again ^^
