We are going on our first family cruise on the 9/14 Wonder. <Yeah!> We have our reservations for the Radisson at the Port and will be leaving our rental minivan there. I've seen a great tip on these boards suggesting one person (probably DH) drop off everyone + luggage at the terminal, take the car back to the Radisson, then get on the shuttle.

My question - If I get in line at the terminal for check-in, do I need to have everyone in my party (all 5) stand in line with me for ID check (like at the airport)?

Any help would be appreciated...thanks!

When we checked in, they needed to see each adult to verify the passport/picture id.

we are also going to be having this situation; dropping one way rental off at budget office.
Would it be just as easy to drop car off at car rental office and then shuttle full party to pier???

kcatoir - why go to the trouble of bringing "the mountain to Mohammed" when you can just as easily bring "Mohammed to the mountain"...

I think I made the suggestion of dropping everyone off at the pier & then driving back to the Radisson. Even if the group must wait for all to be present, the majority of the party can wait at the terminal which has a model of the ships & often characters walking around (starts the vacation a few minutes sooner). There is also a coffee bar there (for a fee). If there is a long line for getting on the ship, a person can wait in line.
The Radisson is not very far to go & the one person needing the shuttle with no luggage (only ID) needs only 1 seat versus needing space for a group & bags. A large group may have to wait. A single can fit in anywhere. Same for the return. If 1 seat is available & you are with a party of 4, one can fit but the party of 4 will have to wait.

CGC33A is correct I have seen them limit the shuttle vans to "drivers only" when it really gets busy! It's definitely faster and easier to drop everyone off at the pier or go get the rental and come back.

I checked myself and the kids in while the kids and my sister and her kids got in line to board. When I was done my sister and I swapped places, and she checked in. When our hubbys got back to the port, after dropping off the cars, they checked in, and met us on the boarding line. Sounds complicated, but was very easy!

OH MY! I broke out in a cold sweat when I discovered BD had posted after me:eek:
Was it my grammer, spelling, or syntax???:p

Nope, just a smart alex remark:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I feel like I dodged a bullet!;)

Just kidding with you BD. I love your posts!

Darn it! You got me!!!!!!!!
I even looked up syntax to make sure I spelled it correctly. It's not a word I use very often. :teeth:

Can I ask. We are driving and will be on the cruise for 3 days. We will be coming from Disney 4 days. We plan on leaving the car at the parking place at the terminal . I think I read 15 dollars a day. How far is the walk to were you ckeck in. Do we need to do the same thing. Drop off everyone then go park and walk or shuttle to the check in. We have never been there so I have no idea the lay of the whole place. Thank you

You drive up to the curb and drop off the luggage to be checked. Then park the car and walk into the terminal.
WOW 15.00 per day! Last I heard it was 10.00:eek:

We were on the July 17, 3-day. We drove up to the terminal and dropped off the luggage with the porters. I then dropped off DH and DS, and went to park the car. The parking lot is across the street from the terminal. Parking is $30 for the 3-day.

Never accuse alex of being smart. A better bet would be his twin brother, alec...

Hey BD, they must be triplets, because I'm well acquainted with aleck.:smooth:

Wow thats great news 10 a day is better than 15. Thats what I get for not looking here for the info. Listening to someone else. Thank you

WebMasterAlex, I was talking about my work. Someone at work told me the fee was 15.00 a day. I should know better than to listen to someone at work. I should always check here. The fee is only 10.00 a day. When I check things here I get the right info. I am sorry if you thought you were getting a beating. I am pretty new here. If it wasn't for people like you who share their info. I would not have had 1 great WDW trip and would not know anything about our up coming cruise. 8 staterooms for 25 people. I have a lot of info to get for all these people who are coming with us. I was voted Cruise Director of our group. Don't get me wrong I love it. I am addicted to the research. Thank you again.
