Ok I don't know if anyone can answer this question but I gotta try.
My family and I are checking on Jun 6th to Pop Century.
The next day our friends are checking in.(June 7th
We both have requested rooms next to each in our reservations.
Disney says they will try but can't guarantee it.
Ok, fair enough.
My question is, do I have a better chance at getting this if I check in earlier or is it set up so that if it's possible it will happen no matter what time I check in?
Example, our flight lands at 3:20, if we go to check in as soon as we can, will there be more options available and by going sooner we beat others checking in that day to the rooms thus getting next door rooms.
Like they have 30 room checking out the next day and the sooner we check in the more likely we will get a room next to one of those.
Or, is it in the system already and Disney has predetermined what room will will get even before we check in no matter what time we do it as long as it's that day.
So once we land, we could go to dinner, then check in, thus avoiding the mad rush of people checking in, and still get the same room we would have gotten if we checked in ASAP.

It depends on how Disney handles room requests. At the hotel where I worked we pre-blocked the requests the night before-Disney may have a similar procedure. My advice is upon check-in repeat the request to the hotel clerk or front desk manager.

Time of arrival doesn't seem to matter. I checked in last time at 700 am, because I was on a redeye. My room wasn't ready until 530, and I didn't request anything, it was a regular room. Literally hundreds of people got rooms who checked in later, I have no idea how their system works but it obviously is not logical. I ended up getting quite mad at a manager as yet another guest checked in beside me and got a room right away, 10 hours after I had arrived and was still without room and it was beyond check in time. I didn't expect it to be ready until 3 / 330, but 530 was pushing it.

Just repeat the request is all you can do I guess.

I would think the earlier you check in the better your chances are. :goodvibes Hopefully POP will be able to accomodate you. Last Sept. we had 1 room booked for first night (4 in room) and then we added a second room for the remainder of our trip. (my niece was joining us half way thru the trip) I couldn't get both rooms for the whole stay. When we checked in for the first night we asked about our ressies for the next day (both rooms) and were we going to be able to stay in our original room and have the new room be connecting? Of course, they didn't know for sure, but they would try. :thumbsup2

So, that first night we didn't fully unpack just in case we had to move. But we had some Disney magic :wizard: with us and we were able to stay in our first room, and get the connecting room next door (and that was on top of getting our request to have an uppper room, 50's bldg., facing the lake). The other thing we wanted to do was get the 2nd room for the last night (I couldn't book that before hand either.) It was for a Sat. night and they said POP was sold-out. So, we made the request to extend that room one more day, and stay in the same room. Again, they couldn't guarantee anything but the night before we received a message that we could get the extra night, in the same room! (This turned out to be very important as my DNiece was up all night, sick, on the last day  ) 5 of us, inc. 1 throwing up all night, would not have been a good thing. :scared1:

So, my point is POP will do all they can to accomodate you. However, I do think you have a better chance to get it if you check in as early as possible when there are more rooms open. Also, I've always had pretty good luck faxing my room request 4 days before arrival. This has worked well at different resorts.

Good luck! :yay:

If they aren't really busy and are feeling especially helpful, you have a good shot.

Just remember that you're asking them to place you next to someone who is checking out the next day or next to an empty room. That is hard enough. If you have additional requests, it gets harder.

They have so many people requesting so many things that it gets difficult to make everyone's dream come true.

If I were you, I'd hope for the best and prepare for the worst. :)

I can tell you my experience at the All Stars. This was during the Christmas/New Years week so I thought it would be impossible. My husband and I checked in on December 23rd. We had requested connecting rooms with my in-laws who weren't checking in until December 27th. I really didn't care if we got the connecting rooms at all - on the same floor or the same building would be nice.

Well, when my in-laws checked in, they were right next to us with the connecting room. If it's possible, Disney will try and do it for you.

One note - I had requested the Broadway building but we were put in Jazz. So if you don't really care where you are in the resort, your chances of making this happen go up tremendously.
